Cooney's knee must be bone fragments on bone fragments. It's been shot for years. Good on him for still playing.

I still remember Kelvin Templeton. He wanted to play good footy as a Demon but physically he was gone.

The highlights of another dull, colourless day - no trades yet although see below for completed free agency transactions.

Allen Christensen

The 23-year-old Cast has asked to be traded to a Queensland-based club "purely for personal reasons".

Tom Lonergan

Lonergan has been approached by the Western Bulldogs about a potential move to the club. He is contracted next season, but the Dogs have expressed their interest in the premiership defender.

Levi Greenwood

North Melbourne says Greenwood wasn't squeezed out of the club by the additions of free agents Shaun Higgins and Jarrad Waite, despite them not being able to match the offer he will receive from Collingwood.

Dayne Beams

Brisbane says they're prepared to offer Collingwood picks 5 & 25 in exchange for Beams and has ruled out trading any of their young stars back to the Pies.

Exodus

The number of players wanting out of Essendon continues to grow, with Elliott Kavanagh and Kyle Hardingham joining Paddy Ryder, Jason Winderlich and Leroy Jetta in expressing their desire to leave the club.

Travis Varcoe

West Coast says they'd certainly be interested in gaining a trade for Geelong's Varcoe but expects him to stay at a Victorian-based club.

FREE AGENCY MOVES after Day 3

• Jarrad Waite moves from Carlton to North Melbourne as an unrestricted free agent.

• Shaun Higgins moves from the Western Bulldogs to North Melbourne as a restricted free agent.

• James Frawley moves from Melbourne to Hawthorn as an unrestricted free agent.

• Nick Malceski moves from Sydney to Gold Coast an an unrestricted free agent.

Ho, hum ... we have entered day four of the official NAB Trade Period and sooner or later something's gotta give...

Jeff Garlett and Levi Greenwood

Melbourne and Carlton could come to terms as early as today on Garlett while the Greenwood to Collingwood deal also appears close to being finalised.

Dayne Beams

Beams could still remain a Collingwood player, with the Magpies and Lions unable to come to terms on a suitable trade. The Pies insist they want a young player from the Lions as part of the deal, while Brisbane says its unwilling to let anyone other than picks go.

The Ryder rort

There are reports that Port Adelaide and Essendon have investigated a plan that could see Ryder move to the Power as an unrestricted free agent. It would then mean the Bombers received compensation from the AFL for him leaving. A further exchange of picks would see an adequate deal get done for both clubs.

WJ - the deal will only get done at the expense of the AFL's integrity. If it does, the game falls into disrepute in my view and the damage to the competition, trading, free agency etc will be substantial

Allen Christensen

Justin Leppitsch met with the former Cats midfielder who wants to go to the Lions in Melbourne yesterday.

Sam Grimley

The Hawthorn tall has asked the club to trade him even though he is contracted for next season.

Hawks get Frawley for nothing and O'Rourke for pick 19. Yep equalisation is working a treat. How can bottom clubs compete?

Yes interestingly enough that Chip didn't say that he wanted to see his new Club Hawthorn throw any morsel our way for picking up one of our best players. This is in contrast to Mitch who at least was on record as saying that he would like to be dealing with a Club that gave us fair compensation. I realise that by FA versus trade the situations were different but Chip was on record as saying that he had 'red and blue blood coursing through his veins'!

Pick 3 + 22 + player for Griffen and pick 6???

Why wouldnt the dogs try and make the most of it and say Griffen and 6 for Boyd or Patton and pick 4, after all they have the big power forwards that the dogs desperately need. See how much the GWS want him.

A bit perplexed at what's going on in trade week. Already Thursday afternoon and we haven't got much action. Lamumba deal not tidied up and diddly squat eveything else. Either something big is going to happen or very little.

Edit, I forgot about Garlett.

Interesting. Might be the case. Would like us to give him and WB another option. We have the money in the cap I believe. If money is his reason, he may not want to leave Victoria. Pick 3 would land them McCartin or 2 Meter Peter and pick 21 gives them another in the top 25.

This is quite normal that nothing happens, at least it used to be the case a couple of years back....

The perplexing part is that so many big name players are requesting trades, if this keeps up no one will give a stuff about Danger coming to us next week ;) might not even get picked up on the trade tracker!

Look at their list when all is said and done...

Shaw, Patfull, Davis, Griffen, Shiel, Tomlinson, Treloar, Ward, Cameron, Boyd, Patton..... I know where I'd prefer to be!

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
