Still Waiting funny that a quick search of websites has two backing my version of events for Wells departure mid season 1980 (blueseum.com and australianrules.com) Demon wiki has your version? Never be so sure that you know all the facts!

Those ex players are the ones that know the truth, I don't believe much of what I read on forums etc! Perhaps you do!

Going to Cats, so who will we get in return?

Cats' pick 13 seems fair. :)

Find a way to weasel Josh Walker into the deal.

Why? they will do that in a heartbeat, but he is just another NQR.

I don't agree. At 22 he is showing very good signs for a big KPF.

Can you get the deal done please?

They won't do it, his last effort was 3 in a losing final with some very strong grabs. Doesn't get involved enough yet but is improving nicely.

But if Clark nominates Geelong (for example) then Geelong can just offer Melbourne their last pick and say take it or leave it becuase as was agreed Clark is being delisted by Melbourne, after which he is a Free Agent and can join any team he likes for free.

No he can't

Geelong seem to have a few kids whose dudness has flown under the radar because they can be carried by some supremely talented mature players. If Clark is Geelong bound I'd sooner look at picks. Picks 36 (once compo picks are handed out for Frawley, Waite and Higgins) and 54 for Clark and 60? I'd rather see us better our draft picks mainly for the purposes of on-trading.

Realistically what compensation can we expect for CLARKE?????? Im just trying to work out what we have and could have.

Not including delistings so far we have lost Clarke and Frawley.

But have Stretch for what looks like pick 39, Lumumba for pick 22 and we still have pick 2 and pick 3(Frawley compo).

I still think we need to draft a gun midfielder and trade a pick for a gun mid fielder.

He is the main carrot they will dangle... or are dangling.

They'll even happily chuck in another.

I rate him.

This would make me very happy. I reckon he has a lot left of improvement left in him.

Second round pick, but I'd love a Horlin Smith or Smedts.

is that violins i hear in the distance?

He is, but Melbourne could in theory (unlikely as it is) threaten to pick him up in the draft if a deal cannot be struck.

do you seriously suggest that we would expend a draft puck on a player who has turned his back on us, after all the support he has been given. It would be not a draft pick but a daft pick.

I think it is pretty clear that he is going elsewhere, which is fine.

He has removed the number 11 from his social media accounts - which may not seem like much to some but it certainly is.

It's a shame everything happened the way it did, but I wish him all the best.

You wouldn't wish him anything if what i was told today is true.

I have no time for Clark at all...

??? Do you want to give us a clue or is it confirming some of the earlier scuttlebutt on this thread?

If a change of environment is beneficial fair enough but work with the club to achieve a mutually beneficial result rather than shopping yourself around. I know from inside that the club is disgusted with his behaviour and that I can't forgive.

Combine this with his history of burning other a clubs a picture emerges of an attention seeking narcissist and I think it would be buyer beware and probably the reason we would only offer him a basic contract.

I am involved in treating people with depression and in principle you remove people from a toxic environment if necessary but Clark was given every support at The Dees and so for him you could make a case that it would be better to return and learn appropriate coping skills. In therapy you don't encourage people to keep running away because most change begins internally.

I had read he had been shopping himself around, however i didn't realise it was separate of the club and not necessarily working with the club on the process.

Can you give any more detail on exchanges between he and the club and who's not particularly happy?

Im not trying to call your bluff or anything like that, I'm just curious, trying to decide what to think of mitch.

Its such a radical change, he went from being one of our most loved players, then we all felt for him when he declared his depression and now everybody hates him and wishes the worst upon him.

So like many i suppose I'm interested in real sources of information to form an appropriate informed opinion.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
