Jarka 767 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 ...I just want this season to end and the next pre-season to start so I can once again convince myself that we'll be better next year?
DeeSpencer 26,667 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Paul Roos has said as much. Unfortunately the draft and trade period are the best times to be a Melbourne supporter.
Machsy 2,858 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Ah, renewed false hope... Btw, is it an amazing coincidence that I misspelled false and autocorrect offered me "Cale"? True story.
chook fowler 19,769 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 ........ I expect the odd draft pick to live up to expectations.
TRIGON 4,819 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Ah, renewed false hope... Btw, is it an amazing coincidence that I misspelled false and autocorrect offered me "Cale"? True story. Pick 88?
RalphiusMaximus 6,112 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 We've had plenty of draft picks exceed expectations. Bale, McDonald, Jetta. All low picks who are doing ok. IF only we could say the same about our first round picks.

WhyAlwaysMe 237 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 instead of shouldering football pain on my own, i drag my whole family down with me.
KingDingAling 3,758 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 ...I just want this season to end and the next pre-season to start so I can once again convince myself that we'll be better next year? I am usually a glass half full MFC supporter, but I don't expect much improvement next year. The loss of Frawley will hurt. GWS and GC will improve, Brisbane appearing on the up, inclusion of Rich will help to. MFC will tail out with St Kilda, painful times ahead IMO.
Bitter but optimistic 22,289 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 instead of shouldering football pain on my own, i drag my whole family down with me. A man after my own heart budge! Keep up the good work!

I'm sorry, but apart from the odd goal here and there, Chip will not be missed. The top 5 pick however won't hurt us.
Uncle Fester 2,848 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Happy in October, depressed in March. You think we'd be used to it by now.
Nasher 33,651 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 ...I just want this season to end and the next pre-season to start so I can once again convince myself that we'll be better next year? I thought that was normal. Without the ability to delude myself that it'll all be good next year I'd have given up ages ago.
Roger Mellie 4,205 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 We should be the Melbourne J.E.T.S - Just End The Season
Coup Cooper 610 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I turn on my own team as quick as they turn on themselves! I feel like I 'm turning into a richmond supporter. But I think the 400 odd a year I pay gives me the right to be [censored], when "professional" players can 't handball two metres or kick a goal from 17 metres out!
jackaub 1,402 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 ...I just want this season to end and the next pre-season to start so I can once again convince myself that we'll be better next year? Yep Just like last year Siggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Deecisive 1,709 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Sad but the happiest time for Melbourne supporters is after the end of the home and away games, anticipation and optimism generated by the draft (and list clean out) through to new recruits joining pre-season training and into practice matches, after that its normally been all down hill until the end of the home and away games again where we rinse and repeat.
