Be careful sitting on the fence dc the splinters can be awful.

true od, but in this case i find it hard to get the balance between objectivity and subjectivity acceptable

as for splinters....pfffft.... what's a bit more pain to a dees supporter

i think we should more correctly refer to it as "the abomination"

and....any numbers concerned with mfc victories are so infinitesimally small as to be considered lacking in any significance

Versus the Red and blue milestone that has been around our neck for fifty years dc.

We will win no more than 6 -7 games next year and all will be in the New MFC colours.

As an order of priorities the "old one " should be dispensed with before we worry about JW IMO

I had an interesting phone call this morning.

Melbourne United Team rang me to ask if I was going to pay my membership for this season.

When I said No that I have never been a member before they said but you were a member last year.

To which I answered that I was a member of the TIGERS NBL team but as that entity no longer existed I could no longer be a member.

And I had no intention of joining a new team, the Tigers no longer existed so my interest in the NBL had been extinguished.

After a little bit of light banter the person admitted this was a common story.

It will be interesting to see how this re branding of the Tigers goes.

I suspect that they will struggle I have been a member/ supporter for 30 years but I have little interest.

It ain't the Tigers!

I wanted to keep it fairly light as it is not the person who had to rang's decision

They just get the crappy job of ring a Tiger members like me.

A bit harsh imo. It's still the same club, same players, same people, and it's considerably different to what any potential change to MFC there would be. The Tigers' change was part of a broader problem for basketball and the NBL in this country, and tbh I think they were the only group prepared to make a hard decision. Tigers support and NBL support were dwindling. I was a Spectres, Giants, Titans, Magic fan and then turned off completely. The whole point is to "unite" everyone under the same banner, because having 2, 3, 4, 5 clubs in the city divided what is a pretty small support base interested in domestic professional leagues. The NBL and particularly the Tigers as one of the league's stalwarts need to make major changes.

To be frank I think they expected people like yourself to drop off and people like myself to jump on board.

Then the plan is working perfectly

But one and one off not much of a gain IMO.

The reason why I posted it is just to show what would happen to any side that changed significantly.

If the MFC changed to the Tassie devils and where green and yellow it would be just that to me the Tassie Devils not The Melbourne Demons.

My team has gone so have I.

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
