GAME DAY - Round 18

Riley finding form

2015 will be good.

Haha we say that every year BB :)

Lets hope we can finish 2014 with a bang (although part of me does want a good pick - i'd still rather see the boys get some reward for hard work)

Umpires missed a high hit on Tapscott after disposing of it and Stewart drops our captain with a high bump and its missed . Among others time to square up on the scoreboard and get stewart .

By my reckoning several players have a half of footy to show they might be part of the future

Watts ( Does not do anywhere near enough or want it bad enough)

Tapscott ( Limited)

Blease ( Pace but that's about it)

Mc Kenzie ( Sorry, but I still cannot believe how a bloke with the skills of a park footballer still gets a game at AFL Level)?

I've got no issue with Tapscott and Blease in the team for this game. Whilst by no means dominating at least they bring some polish compared to Matt Jones and Terlich (who show much more endeavour). I want to see some skill and polish, not just endeavour this week.

I am not a McKenzie (DE62.5%) fan but his job is to quell Boak and he is doing this well. Viney's (DE45.5%) and Tysons (DE57.1%) jobs are to win contested ball and create.

Is the right one being criticised here?

Agreed, I'm not a big fan but he's been solid today.

Where's the too high for Watts? Round his neck ffs.

Nev Jetta has been our best player by a mile today. He and Lynden Dunn are our only defenders who can hold their heads up consistently this year.

If you watch the replay, just after the Jones hit, Gray throws the ball up to Stewart.

Blease and Watts behind the ball becoming involved go Roosy

Port are going to get slaughtered in the finals. They are cooked.

The holding the ball rule is just atrocious.

It has become a rule whose only purpose is to keep the ball moving no matter what. You're better off blatantly throwing the ball than diving on it (at peril of limb) in order to halve a contest.

we desperatley need someone who can kick goals in our team

It’s Game Day and the Demons return to the scene of the crime to take on the wooden spooners.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
