Would love to know what Roos wants to achieve in regards to selection this season cause it obvious that some players ether need a rest or need to find form but are not being dropped.

Very true because while PR has brought with him a host of great traits that have helped our guys considerably, he is still very much using the same model as he applied at Sydney, except without any line breaking options.

He clearly wants big bodies - we had nine bigs in our side in Darwin, despite the fact that every previous time we have played up there the best players have been lively ground-sized players - e.g.: Davey, Boak (PA). We have more bigs than any other side in the comp - most go with 7, and Freo went with just six, so it seems to me that Roosy showed he hadn't done his research for Darwin or was just bloody-minded about his bigs.

I'd like to think that this week he'd cut back his bigs by at least one and make a decision on which of Pederson and Gawn sits out.

Pederson has done really well this year, but it is not a crime to rest him.

I said JKH was a must last week given how clean he is with his hands and how greasy the conditions have been up in Darwin, but alas that wasn't taken into account.

I'd love to see him back in the side this week (an not just as sub) because he's the only small forward we have with a touch of magic and he has a high tackle count in VFL.

Yes he did break game plan by calling for Dunny to switch the ball to him against Collingwood and followed up with another howler - but at least he wanted the ball.

This week I'm sure Tappy will be in - but that probably means he won't be!

In fact the most likely scenario based on previous selections this year is NO Change, although I'm sure Jetta will come in.

It would be great if the selectors actually made a bold statement and gave three guys who are close to being delisted a chance to strut their stuff - Tappy, Blease and Barry (actually starting) - but I know that won't happen.

So what I think will happen is:

In Jetta, Tappy. Out: Barry, Gawn (with Salem the sub).

But what I'd like to happen is:

In: Jetta, Tapscott, JKH, Blease (sub)

Out: Pederson (rested so we are not so top-heavy), Salem (small forward spot taken by JKH), McKenzie (so that Barry can actually start and tag Motlop and we can all decide whether he has any chance of ever being up to this level, which I seriously doubt), Terlich (not required with Jetta back).

Not necessarily. There have been plenty of players who had their cards stamped after just two games. I'm not out to embarrass or criticise anyone, but Isaac Weetra and I think Cameron Hunter and maybe JoshTynan had two-game careers.

I didn't see the Freo game so I'm not passing judgement on Barry - just pointing out that after two games some players' careers have been known to come to a halt.

Ah yes another mob with a huge wining streak over us. At least we have the privilege of actually facing them at home for the first time in FIVE YEARS. We are paying 6.00 with the line at 37.5 points. Can't see us getting within 10 goals after last week's pitiful performance.

Tappy went to Darwin as the 23rd man in case of a late injury. He is on the cusp of selection, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him get a run this week.

Jay Kennedy-Harris: Jay played wing and high half-forward. He had a really solid game last week and I thought Jay backed it up this week, by playing his role well. He had five tackles, missed two and had zero fumbles, so that was a highlight of Jay’s game. I thought he was really clean around traffic. Jay often gained an advantage for us, which was really great to see on the day. He had a tendency to want to always play on after taking a mark or gaining a free kick, which is something we will address this week, as there are times he needs to be more composed and allow the play to unfold first. He kicked a really nice goal in the last quarter, just through repeat efforts and pressure in the forward line. We thought he played his role for the second week in a row.

As someone who watches a team move the ball at a snail's pace every week, to almost inevitably hand it back to the opposition anyway, I love the fact his instinct is to move the ball on quickly. There's obviously a balance needed, but I hope he keeps his natural game.

If he sticks to his natural game he will stay at Casey. Trouble is the way the game is, if you play on you have no one to kick to, everyone is in the back half of the ground unless it's a quick transition.

Personally I think when our team waits for the "play to unfold" they are all matched up and end up kicking to a contest and resulting in a turnover. The teams who move it on quickly do better. As does our team when we have our confidence up.

Unfortunately it is not the player with the ball who has control of this situation. It is his teammates running to make position, if they work hard the play unfolds and we move the ball on quickly.

Of course his game has to mature and develop, but my point was that a confidence to want to take the game on is something JKH seems to have in spades. He backs himself. You can see it. That is what I hope is not compromised too much simply in the name of slowing the play down. I wasn't questioning Miller's review.

I'm not sure there slowing the play down, it's more that players aren't in position.

I hope he keeps his natural flair too 'P-man'.

All the match day reports on here called JKH disinterested, but Miller is glowing with praise for playing his role and backing it up two weeks in a row.

No wonder it takes teams a few years to understand defensive coaches, their game plan seems to revolve more around playing your role and only your role, rather than just playing amazing individual footy.

Certainly explains why JKH hasn't been in the team since Colonwood. Not only for missing that mark, but because he defied his role and was in the wrong side of the oval. Seems PR is more interested in role players than 30+ disposal trail blazers.

From the content of these reports, one would have to say that Blease (maybe), JKH and Riley are the most likely considered for promotion.

I was interested in the emphasis on not only tackles, but missed tackles and also fumbles in this week's report. Is this new? Does it reflect on what is seen as important? Earlier in the year as I recall the reports emphasised 'plain their role'. Does it reflect a change in what is required?

Let's just hope we don't lose by 50 million points or whatever it was when Bailey lost his job.

JKH deserves that rising star nom. If he doesn't get it by the end of this season, he's ineligible next year. He was robbed that week we won against Adelaide.

THAT SAID, the award is a pathetic joke. Only two years ago, EIGHT of the nominations went to GWS. It's just political rubbish, just like all the nominations for Brisbane this year. It's the AFL's way of selling hope to pathetic clubs with terrible performances.

GWS is a disaster for us and the AFL. It's a failed experiment like the rugby league players brought into the AFL. Nobody supports them except the fools at AFL house. The players all want to leave and be in good clubs that win games. Many were high draft picks and have been shafted by this cruel twist of fate that they were born in the wrong year when Greatest Waste of Space was created and stole all our picks.
