Watts was one of our best today. You're selling him short.

Bail played a solid defensive game.

McDonald was pretty poor. I think you're being a little soft on him.

I would not play McDonald.Too slow both mentally and physically..Not part of the future (my opinion) Frawley to go back when Hogan finally recovers.. Garland needs to lift also..

Pedders=still eating garlic

M.Jones=defensive running terrific.

Jamar=always makes sur its a contest.

Backline=developing nicely.

Cross=whatever he cost,it was cheap,inanunder machine.

N.Jones - outstanding captain's game
Grimes - steady without turnovers
Salem - given football lesson
Watts - not too bad
Dawes - beaten on day
Viney - unpressured crap kick
Tyson - couldn't break tag
Frawley - stop chest marking!
Dunn - great attacking defence
Cross - wonderful tagging performance
Garland - rare horrible game
Pederson - keeps on working
Vince - too many turnovers
Kennedy - Harris - poor game today
McDonald - our leading stopper
Gawn - learn to mark
Howe - an OK game
Bail - possession without impact
M.Jones - ineffective hard running
Terlich - injured after break?
Jetta - great stopping game

Hey Joeboy, we're half way through the season. How about a "year to date" three word analysis?

we're getting there

You gotta be kidding me "..chunt". Tmac is an elite runner - both pace and endurance. Add the fact the he is a fair size at 94kg and you would want to keep him as a key defender surely!! No doubt he makes mistakes but he's only played 40 or so games and is still learning.

Actually thought his kicking was better on Mon... Some decisions ....ummmm

you continually give players you don't like crap raps........Watts was good yesterday, so was Bail and M.Jones!!!!!!!!!

Because he got clean hands to about 10 others, where he was heaps taller than his opponent and simply spilled the mark, without it being punched away from him. 3 contested marks is a very good effort but he got to a lot of contests and lacked the polish to actually take the mark. Persevere with him though - his marking will get better.

Yes Max can be frustrating. He is a young , huge guy who you feel is just about to play an absolute blinder (as I have seen him do at Casey on several occasions). When he hits his straps, I have not doubt he will be unstoppable. Let's hope it is soon. He will be one of the MFC's most important players as we move towards our next premiership I have no doubt. The transition though is frustrating to watch.

Overall = Too Few Goals!

Stating the obvious ?

Yes but if we had kicked 10.3 instead of 3.10 then we would have beaten Collingwood by two points which is nearly as sweet as beating them by a solitary point.

Once again Matt Jones gets a whipping from some on here.....yawn......I just read Roos comment on the best teams having players who can and will run hard both ways all game. The two Jones' and Dan Cross immediately was who I thought he was talking about. Next tier Vince, Tyson, Viney (last 2 still getting the tank).

I would put my house on Matt Jones being in the first handful of players Paul Roos selects every week.

I would also put my house on those on here continuing NOT to get it.

I consider that I am balanced in my views and can see both sides of the equation. I don't go in for player bashing but can understand the critics and defenders of players past and present such as Watts, Dunn and Terlich to name but three who polarise supporters. I scratch my head at criticism of Matt Jones who in my opinion works ultra hard, presents, chases, leads, has pace and decent enough disposal. He has played 33 games and averages 20 disposals per game. Not much not to like IMO.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

    Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

    THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

    Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
