Well done for Jake Spencer, Jones, Cross and Viney plus others (Kent, Georgiou, Grimes, Frawley) for line in the sanding with attack on the ball.

Turns out we didn't need the brawl as we had the skills. But Spencer brawled as well anyway!

As I'm in thumb sucking mode when it comes to watching the team at the moment (I still believe in the team, the coach and the path, just it's a long trek), I have basically retreated into watching grainy footage of the late 80's to 90's and some 00's, and there were plenty of times when we were fierce, and as neanderthal as it is, I bloody love it. I think in a just let them know you exist in a way (not permanent damage way) a few blokes like Spencer and maybe Dunn (don't really want him suspended), running through and bruising a few ribs would be a good thing. Everything in the contest and no cheap shots or king hits, but a few in your face wild eye moments would be great.

But as has been said, waiting for ever, would settle for a couple of semi bruising shepherds protecting each other, in fact are shepherds even a stat, would like to track that one. More than inside 50's.

This stat is covered tikey. Not individually (not at a public level anyway...possibly champion data might be covering it as an separate one), but in the collective stat "1 percenters". As far as i know this stat covers knock ons, spoils, smothers and shepherds.

Don't know whether today was a line in the sand game...

BUT

...feels good to throw sand in Carlton's face !!

you blooooody beauty !

It wasn't but it was the start of it IMO. Lead by Jones, Dawesy and Cross. Finally "multiple" leaders standing up and showing the way.

Master, "actions" like that of Spencer today speak louder than any words on the field. Sends a signal and message to others in the team that we are not about laying down and taking a backward step and it begins to run through the group that this is what's required if you're playing in this team.

Some aggressive attack on the ball and carrier starting to emerge... and not just by the 1 or 2 usual culprits. Positive signs. A little confidence beginning to show, and it's amazing what can happen when that creeps into the group.

I reckon we turned a corner against the Tigers,

pushed the cats

finishing cost us against the saints when i think we were the better side,

West Coast touched us up but look a seriously good offensive team

probably beat GWS besides a concentration lapse in the last quarter, put Dawes in that side and i reckon we fall over the line

and win tonight, could easily have been 3 and one and we play, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Swans and the dogs, potentially a couple of wins out of that lot i reckon.

I think it was of sorts. If carlscum had of come to the party, then maybe the old 'heave ho' may have happened.

but I fear the blue boys took their players away before the game. Robinson, Waite, Garlett, White, and Bell... did they think they'd win like this? or was this arrogance again?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
