This is just rubbish. Yes he was terribly handled, but if you'd seen his efforts even at Casey you would have known he hated physical contact.

Yes, and that's why he needed to stay there for much longer than he did - which as you've pointed out - was the club's fault at the time.

Of course I am aware of his conditioned pattern of disliking physical contact, but I am absolutely 100% of the opinion that if he were at a club who really put the right people in place to nurture and develop this glaring weakness that he still portrays on the field, he'd be much further developed. Being cellar dwellers at the time, those in charge were more interested in earning the club some financial relief in June rather than developing a raw but talented kid who deserved to be nurtured in a much more sensitive way.

You're kidding yourself if you think it hasn't contributed to his lack of development in that area of his game. He wasn't required to address it for the first half of his career!

I wouldn't have played him at all until he changed his characteristics, There's no argument from me that he was terribly handled.

Can we let the kid play a couple of games before is anointed the " Hero / Savior"

Please!

I say he's the Messiah! Jesse Hogan will lead us out of the wilderness and into the promised land. The heavens will shine down on us and the angels will sing "It's a Grand Old Flag" to the roars of the Dees faithful.

Hallelujah, brothers and sisters, I have seen the light and it is good. In Jesse we trust! Praise the Lord!

Not sure where that leaves my request Reverend?

Guess I will just return to my shell!

Blessed is Old Dee for he has been a true and loyal keeper of the faith.

Well at least on Monday 16th of December in the year of our Lord 2013 I have been blessed.

That should ensure a good start to the week.

With Watts there was a game in the first season of the Gold Coast Suns at the Gabba when Watts was made the sub and didn't come on until the last quarter and he picked up 7 disposals. It was a game we won by 16 goals but IMO Watts should have been on the ground from the get go. Could have kicked a bag that day and it would have done wonders to his confidence. He was probably handled worse in that game than in his debut.

I was at that game and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him wearing the sub's vest. It was the perfect opportunity to play him against kids his size and in a game in which the ball would be in our forward line for the majority of the game.

There have been some very surprising decisions made with regards to Watts but this was one of the worst IMO.

It was also the perfect opportunity to send a message to him that if he wants to spot in the 18 he needs to work hard and things are not just going to be handed to him.

Well then send the message to him against any one of the other 15 clubs.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
