People here are more down to earth, there is more of a cultural mix rather than doughy fat white people ridden with middle class angst and it will take you 20-30 minutes tops by public transport or car to get into the CBD. When I was living in Ringwood, it actually took longer to get from Ringwood station to Flinders Street than it did from bloody Geelong.

I am curious how many fellow Demons live in the western suburbs. I tend to see more Geelong supporters out this neck of the woods than Dees which is sad.

I am from Deer Park and so is my whole family who are also all Melbourne supporters. Have also converted 5 friends to Melbourne that also live in the west.

I know plenty of Demons fans in East Keilor (about 10 minutes from Windy Hell in the heart of Bomber territory), a few in Sydenham, one in Taylors Lakes, one in Gisbone and an entire family from Melton.

When the good times roll you'll see a fair few more westies jumping on board the Demons i can promise you that!

Good move. I remember way back playing against Scotch College. Their red jumpers were skin tight and impossible to grab. What about plenty of oil on the arms as well? Make us as slippery as eels. What was wrong with the stars? I thought they were meaningful symbols of our illustrious past.

The clash jumper we have now is an absolute cracker and the best of any team in the AFL except Freo.

Surely MFC know you can actually employ colour consultants (sounds like a [censored] of a job but these people really do exist) to match a blood red with navy blue that won't look pink-ish on the whote clash strip?

All you say is correct

But why was it so hard for us when the Red in the Bombers and Sydney has never looked pink or Maroon in real life, on TV, day or night?

We were just poor in the Jumper Red and numerous other areas.

While I appreciate your condescension, i think you'll find it's not THAT hard to get it how you want it.

There's plenty of options of pantone colour guides, test prints, or even using previous ink combinations.

You don't just order thousands of them after looking at it on a computer screen... But the "common supporter" probably wouldn't think of that.

That may be so, but Sydney, Adelaide, the Bulldogs, Essendon and St Kilda all seem to have no problems with their reds.

Personally I actually don't mind the clash jumper. If they allowed us to wear blue shorts with it then it would look much better. However, if they did permit us to use red as the primary colour, then I think something like this would look decent. I really like the MFC crest. Should be utilised more often.

If you look closely at the picture in the link below, you'll see the MFC crest is on the front of the jumper. I agree it looks good, but only on the red background, if it was on white it would look too much like carlton.

Well that's great, but the colour is integral to the medium, so unless you want us running out in a woollen jumper again, it'll be very difficult, if not impossible, to match that red.

Don't think so. Synthetic fibre allows and almost infinite range of colours as they are printed on the surface. Agree that the old colour was significantly dependent upon the material.

you can't judge living in the eastern suburbs by Ringwood. Box hill, Waverley, Noble Park, Dandenong not multi cultural enough for you?

I lived in the east,the north, the north east and the west. The west had the worst air quality, the worst public transport, the least trees and parks and the least soul

the north has the most soul and is the most multicultural, but the north east and eastern suburbs the best parks, open spaces and air quality.

at my work we used to trace the big brown cloud that started at Williamstown and went west.
