Carlton - will slide big time. Have recruited very poorly, and have some real weaknesses, and Judd is past his best. I see them mid the second tier, and certainly below us.

Theyre a strange lot. Very self serving in terms of how they feel and think they are travelling. I too think they will struggle, then implode. ( that will be funny to watch )

I sense we'll be about par with them but only as we pass on way up, they sliding down.. I think Mouse is still living his yesterdays.

Is it a case of short-term memory here or unrealistic expectations, or both? We're not as bad as we showed in 2012-2013 and now we've got an A grade coach. Improved coaching will improve player output, but there are other vital factors that must be taken into account. For example, injuries could play a massive part for us, due to a lack of depth in the squad, particularly in the midfield. A lack of experience will also be a factor. Fingers crossed we get Cross. This will help, but won't bridge the gap entirely. Remember, Michie and Tyson haven't played a full season of games between them yet. Viney has only played half a season too.

I've no doubt we'll be better than '13, but we're coming from an incredibly low base. You'd bloody hope so. I think it'd be worth watching a few of our final games of '13 again. We were legitimately the worst side I have ever seen. We deserved the spoon ahead of GWS. Realistically, a top 12-10 finish would be a coup. 2015 would be the year to aim for finals. Still, I love your optimism, but I hope you hang 'round if things go pear-shaped.

Firstly, I don't think I can watch any of the games of 2013 again. And secondly, I think we were even worse in the first half of 2013 than in those "final games".

What price was going 25-0 just out of interest?

If each game was an even money affair, for argument's sake, the odds would be 33 million to one.

As well as the ones mentioned above, I think it is quite realistic for us to be better than Essendon, Richmond, Gold Coast and Carlton, and maybe even the Pies. It is possible, and we may see Port have a let down after their stellar year this year.

Oh, come on. Seriously?? Go and have a look on the 'best line up' page, then have a look at who is next in when some of those blokes are injured. There is not a snowball's chance in hell that we'll be better than any of Richmond, Gold Coast, Carlton or Collingwood. Essendon either, unless they are playing their VFL side.

Really?

I look forward to further discussions at season's end. "the proof of the pudding etc etc etc"

Hope you have a long and happy season in you projected misery...

Yes, really. Hope I'm wrong but realistically, don't think I will be. I'd love to have that discussion with you, having been proven wrong, believe me!

Seriously! Gold Coast, When we played them at metricon it was only Burns bad kicking that lost it for us 1 goal 5. If he kicked 5 goals 1 we would have won. And that was without Clark, Dawes, Frawley.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
