Good luck to him, I'm actually really interested in how he goes and hope he does get some success. Conan was one of the best defenders of the 80's era and is a better footy person than his coaching record suggests.

I was told by a very well informed mate that Craig is right in the mix, they have obviously stuffed up bigtime now Eade and Roos are out of the picture.

Ayres wouldn't be the worst choice.

Load. Of. Incorrectness.

And you know this because... From the same source that you quoted in a previous post when you said that 'Roos will definitely not coach us.'??

Dam and I was sure they would have recruited Mark Neeld.

actually I could see the 2 of them working together very well, as a team.

They way that they have gone about things they're lucky to even be getting an Ayres.

How do you stand up in front of the members who contribute their hard earned to the club and say, yeah we sacked a club legend who wasn't doing to badly, failed to sign our top two targets and decided to hire a bloke who has been doing pretty well in a lower comp.

if it wasn't so funny i'd feel terrible for them.

Let's not forget that Voss' monumental trade bungles in his first year, it's hard to have confidence in that bloke going forward.

No matter how much Voss improved, he was still that man.

Voss needed more of a grounding, perhaps he will get another crack at coaching down the road, but he needs to get some more experience.

I think Ayres has been much maligned for his last year or so at the Crows where he's rumoured to have "lost the players". He's shown that he can coach at the next level and has been consistently successful for a long time at Port Melbourne. If he gets rid of the mullet he could be a chance for the Brisbane job.

OMG. I just saw him deliver his ¾ speech and he has ditched the mullet!

that PJ is like a SuperHero, flying in here & then over there... the strength of a loco-motive, he's changing the shape of the AFL with his bare hands, & Yet finds time to be a mild mannered barber in his breaks.

Conspiracy again? you dont know that and plenty of club legends have been sacked, Voss had 5 years and i think your taking it harder than him, DONT ever forget who you follow.

what are you on about? my comment was about poor management, not a conspiracy, or anything like a conspiracy

I think it's hilarious that they have stuffed this up as bad as they clearly have, i have mate who are very involved at Brisbane, they said the target list was 1 Roos 2 Eade 3 Craig

Don't really look like getting any at this point

when you sack a club legend like voss who yes made some bad decisions you shouldn't do it three weeks out from the end of the season with the finals still very possible ( potentially only missed out by a point ) just to talk to Paul Roos, Voss had earned the final three rounds imo.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
