An out of contract Victorian? I wonder if he'd like to come home?

Midfielder?

Average..wouldnt pay overs.

But still a fair footballer.

Do we want more fair footballers or do we want better than that to stick alongside Jonesy with Viney...

he was very good in the year that he won the B&F for the lions, but hasn't done much since imo. He would be an upgrade to many of our mids still though

Almost everyone is an upgrade on our mids yde.

Worth a look at a reasonable price whatever that is.

If GWS still want him cannot see him leaving for the dees.

He's actually playing with the GCS, unless you're saying GWS are after him?

Sorry jr you are correct.

My excuse ( yes a lame one ) is they sound the same.

Lot of injuries and can't hold a spot for the suns. I wonder if he's too far over the hill like a Rodan.

Depends how deep our cut is I suppose. If we look to chop the list right down and need whoever we can get for free then I'd have some interest. If we just want to make a decent amount of changes we might be better sticking to what we have and finding a younger player with more potential even if we have to give up a second or third round pick. Like Port with Monfries or Dogs with Koby Stevens.

Just out of interest who was the last 27 year old or older who couldn't get a game for one club and had battled injuries but then made a big impact at another. It's a tough ask.

We already have an abundance of average mids.

We need Topline players.

Please wyl can you name the abudance of average mids.

We have Two that are not kids that I can think of Trengove and Grimes the rest would not get on another AFL list.

i was being nice.

Even Trengove and Frank would struggle at present.

Only 2 more weeks...God be praised.

I suspected as much wyl.

I was being nice to T & G as well

In all honesty I would be happy to have 7-8 average mids.

would pick 21 be a fair swap?

I watched him play on Saturday for the Suns 2's against Broadbeach and he did ok,didn't set the world on fire which surprised me as Broadbeach are average this year but beat the Suns by 94 points but I think that was more because they were kicked out of the NEAFL for next year so they wanted to make a point.

I think he'd be handy around Viney and Toumpas.

Christ almighty!

The guy can barely get on the park due to injuries and when fit is still battling against being overtaken by kids at the Suns.

He's on the verge of being delisted anyway.

Turned down a move to Carlton because he wanted to stay up North for his QLDer missus.

Would only come to Melbourne if it was the last chance to extend his career.

I think we can do without him.

Ablett, Prestia, O'Meara, Swallow, Stanley, Shaw and with Jack Martin to be elevated he'd have to consider whether his future would be better with us if all they are offering is a one year deal on low money. That said I wouldn't be rushing in with a 2 year deal in any hurry. Lets see how he goes the last 2 rounds.

What another moneyball player...

No thanks!!!

2-yr deal ... PSD #2 only. Get in front of his manager now. He is what MFC needs. Experienced hard-bodied midfielder. Will struggle in 2014 for a game at the Suns.

Not a trade of draft picks IMO ... maybe trade out Rohan Bail back to Qld in exchange if anything !!!

Rischitelli (when fit) would be our 2nd or 3rd best mid at the moment.

Jones would be ahead of him, Viney will be and Sylvia can be when he puts his mind to it.

I assume he would come fairly cheaply so would happily take him for a couple of years if it means not having to toss up between Roden, Nicho and Bail for that last midfield spot.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
