DeeZee 7,496 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Remember when Buddy was supposedly injured last year for 6 weeks. The rumour was he was on 3 strikes but they didnt want to make it public.
dees189227 12,509 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 So the AFL and NRL will be notified which clubs are involved. Oh god please don't let it be us. Im not sure I could cope with another investigation. Also I hope the storm are clear.

titan_uranus 25,252 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 AFL is aware of one player from one club possibly taking WADA banned drugs. It is also aware of multiple players from another club possibly taking drugs, but in this instance it may have been done without their knowledge or consent. He said the AFL is not aware of any other instances of players taking banned drugs. He identified the second club as Essendon. Would not identify the first player or his club.
dees189227 12,509 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 The AFL confirms there are potential multiple breaches by the Essendon Football Club in relation to PED use by its players. Posted on twitter
DeeZee 7,496 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Ok so its Essendon and one other player from another club. I would guess one of [censored], [censored] or [censored].
ignition. 1,478 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 If Jobe is stripped of his Brownlow, do you think Sam Mitchell and Trent Cotchin will be awarded charlie?
mjt 640 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Gillion hates CW, Bombers are screwed, at the end interview CW asked a question and GM said he couldnt comment, but im sure you will make a comment, he dislikes her, no match fixing uncovered.
cowboy_from_hell 2,390 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Remember when Buddy was supposedly injured last year for 6 weeks. The rumour was he was on 3 strikes but they didnt want to make it public. The story that has been buried a bit with all the latest news is the fact that the AFL passed onto to club doctors that player X will not play in certain games last year. The Doctor would then have to tell the coach but he/she could not give the reason why to the coach. Hence a hamstring injury for example.
45HG 1,559 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Essendon and one player - as far as the AFL is currently aware.
old dee 24,082 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 If Jobe is stripped of his Brownlow, do you think Sam Mitchell and Trent Cotchin will be awarded charlie? Probably like the Tour De France There is now winner fro the years LA won. Record for those years shows no winner. But in those years the people who finished in the placings all tested positive down the track. IMO that is not the case in the AFL in 2012 or is it?
Guest José Mourinho Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Essendon and one player - as far as the AFL is currently aware. As far as they have any evidence and are willing to reveal. As far as they have been told by the ACC.
cowboy_from_hell 2,390 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Can anyone honestly say that the bombers aren't screwed? If the bomber players had PED's injected into them without their knowledge who gave the order to do it? You would think the club doctors were told by someone to do it. Why would someone risk their career without being told to do it? I can't see the heirarchy at Essendon not knowing about this.

It needs to be proved first though, which can be hard when some of these PED's can't be detected through testing. Instead they need evidence of them being administered, and of what they were. Tough to establish. Phone intercepts, etc. may provide enough evidence, if admissible.

For the bombers it looks as though a best case scenario would be that they were injected without their knowledge of what the drugs were. Which gets the players off the hook but surely the club is knee deep in it.

There was a while there when I thought we'd gone too early putting the boot into the bombers..... Seems like this is not the case! Happy days Rot in hell bombers 1871 - 2013

The players would still be suspended, but maybe only for the minimum 2 years.
Guest José Mourinho Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 And I hop the payer accused of taking peds is [censored] I don't. I don't think it's [the player whose name has been censored], and I have a feeling he'll find another way to get himself a hefty suspension...

I don't think that would be enough to get the players off the hook if the drugs are found to be illegal, ignorance is no excuse particularly if they were told it was right on the edge and it would improve performance.
