Your kidding right WYL, I hate the Bombers but Robinson couldn't lie straight in bed and crocodile tears if I ever saw them

that would mean he is prepared to be slashed & crucified by Essendon lawyers.

It makes no sense for him to go on national TV and blatantly lie.

You could be right. But on seeing that I/V once i believe for most of the time he was telling his truths.

Posted

Lost a bit of my respect when he claimed they didn't have more than the average injuries last year. I call BS on that. Also call BS that he admitted to getting injected with one of the drugs for a vanity purpose but then was so against all the players getting stuff.

But did seem to me like a guy who was clearly out of his depth with the supplements and not a ring leader in the program. He let Dank provide supplements to his wife and unborn babies. That shows to me that he trusted Dank and obviously isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. You want pregnancy supplements, see a pharmacist or a doctor.

Anyway good luck to David Zaharakis who was apparently the only one smart enough to not take regular injections of products never tested

I'm over the ASADA investigation. I honestly don't care if it was against their rules or not. They weren't cyclists taking EPO. Whatever they were taking may or may not have helped them win games but they didn't win the flag so I don't really care. And WADA couldn't catch half the cyclists or half the other drug cheats in this world. I care little for their credibility unfortunately.

But the Ziggy investigation confirmed it and the weapon and media have all continued to confirm that Essendon players took unregulated, untested substances and that the coaches must have known they were pushing boundaries and when it comes to Hird he obviously took some of this stuff as well.

That's enough for me to say that Essendon should get a monster fine, loss of drafts picks and that anyone with knowledge of this should be suspended from the AFL. And that includes Dank, Robinson, Corcoran, Dr Reid and of course Hird.

And our salary cap cheating didn't win us a flag in the 90s, yet we still paid the penalty. Hit them with the book. Everyone else gets it.

thats my point they should be hit with the book regardless.

Unfortunately Hird has the players all on board at this stage. If I was an Essendon player Id get a trade right out of their and sue them into another country for treating me like a guinea pig.

if the whole list gets bans would zaharakis become a free agent in theory or get the option of walking?

when the salary cap came in, I remember the Pies saying they will find an advantage thru footy dept spend... & it seems they did & have, & nowadays Arizona comes to mind...

No doubt at all, Swan couldn't buy a kick before that stint.

Dean Robinson's 15 (60) minutes of fame was a hoopla session.

A paid interview for someone with an axe to grind who is taking Essendon to the Supreme Court for wrongful dismissal. HIs departure from Essendon was sharp and abrupt and not handled well

I wondered why he bothered with the IV. Mainly raised unsubstantiated allegations that will be knocked down by "He said but he said".

No smoking gun issues but its titilation for those that thrive on this.

The really sad thing about this whole saga is not just the players welfare that could have been compromised, but the integrity and good character of those who are pressured to do the wrong thing. Evans and Robinson prove that out.

Dark days for football.

Reminded me of Brock McLean's on the coach interview..... Doesn't matter if it's true or not

Whilst I agree with Rhino that this amounts to one disgruntled employee with an axe to grind and is no smoking gun. What the Robinson's interview does do is point the media attack dogs in a direction. As we know once given a sniff they are relentless. The lead attack dog has been let off the leash by the AFL and right now has a whiff of Jimmy's arse.

The most interesting thing is that what Robinson said last night is the same as what he told ASADA.

If he lied to ASADA he is looking at jail time so i think there is more to it than just axe grinding.

We will know soon enough i hope.

They signed waivers, could they sue?

I missed the end, what did the panel of "experts" have to say?

the panel was mostly 'spin', & smoothing things over,, mcveig sounded to me like he has used the last 5 or so days to be coached to within a millimeter of his fresh stage managed beard...

the real stuff was in the actual interview, the rest was to save the AFL & Essendon via minimising the damage to Hird.

The panel of so called experts was made up almost entirely of ex footballers who Typically, all sided with James and the Essendon Football club. It was hardly ground breaking, infact the whole interview and subsequent show failed to uncover anything new, it just further muddied the waters.

It’s impossible to pass judgement on this until the report is released, rumoured to be today.

The truth is out there...Its somewhere in the midst of all the allegations and we're slowly being led to it.

Everyone standing around an object describing what they see. The object itself doesnt change only the perspectives.

What we know is AOD 9064 was used. Whats unclear is to what extent it was used knowing it was banned. Other substances were used, by at least Golden boy himself. What we arent privy to yet is who else and what else.

What we do know is none of this was adhoc. It was systematic and was planned. he says / he says is all about the blame.

What else. We know Vlad spoke to Evans the very evening before the Bombers revealed their 180 about turn on things. We also know Vlad was privy to things Evans wasnt. We also know Demetriou runs away all the time just as the heat gets turned up.

We also know WADA/ASADA trumps the AFl. We know the AFL WONT be the ones arbitrating the penalties.

We know Essendon are in the poo. Its the depth we dont know ( yet )

Its quite entertaining

I kind of lost some respect for Cameron Ling. His always affable public persona showed a few cracks when discussion drifted back to the Weapons past links with Geelong.

the only truth we're being Led To, is the AFL's "truth". mud is heavier than water, being in the near-term it will make everything dirty... when only a handful ARE.

common James, its pants down time, you naughty boy... now where is Whelan to metre out the punishment.

the thing is..the AFL arent in charge of the truth. They might like to think they might be, but theyd be mistaken.

Vlad's Dark Empire is a big fish in the little pond , but currently ( npi ....well maybe..lol ) they are all splashing about in a big big sea and then theres a trawler, the SS Wada looking for a catch and its not interested in herrings, especially red ( and black) ones.

No, the sad thing is that footy is delving into the black arts of injecting trial type drugs into somewhat unwitting young players to get an advantage.. that is the only Truth.

spending our investments into the needle & magic creams to crawl over one another.

I think we need to change the title of the thread. I don't think we can get any deeper - we have hit rock bottom! (their screwed)

... well, here's a commiseration gesture to the Bummers for their little sojourn into popping pills, party enhancers, anything... trying to turn their army into Pigfaced Androids.

The more i hear about the investigation the more i think that they deserve to be left high and dry. They only decided to go public because the afl were hot on their tail and as for their "internal investigation" it was probably more like "operation coverup".

I guess we can sigh a breath of relief for at least we haven't shown so much promise and then just had it thrown away (they were arguably the best team in the comp at the start of last year and this year).

I know you get a few weeks for a high hip and shoulder but that was a back and head bump? Is their any rules against that in the afl? Maybe we could take advantage of this.... experiment with the rules of the game? Edited by Young Dee
