just heard word from a former high performance person from the industry.

the whisper was something like this

Hogan & P19 to GWS for Dylan Shiel + P1 + P9
Dees recruit Boyd with P1 & Freeman/Crouch? with P9. Dees use P2 on a Rockliff/Shuey type.
GWS offer Hogan to Freo for Fyfe & P15? or Eagles for ??????
Hogan gets to play at home, Boyd gets to play at home, Shiels gets to come home, Rockliff ?

I'd rather Hogan than Boyd, so no thanks. We can just get Shiel with 2 (hopefully).

Doubtful.

GWS have no hope of getting Fyfe anyway, he is a WA lad - who looks to love Freo.

No doubt they'd be targeting Nick Nat as the WC player, but both are unlikely.

GWS are screwed, they may aswell shut up shop.

Would do this in a heartbeat (but don't believe it for a second)

It doesn't matter how good a deal looks. You don't do anything that involves Hogan leaving the MFC in a "heartbeat".

Having said all that, possibly one of the most creative "rumours" thus far. Kudos.

No way GWS would give up Hogan and Boyd for another mid after not securing Franklin

Call me Demi Moore in Indecent Proposal. I'd never thought I'd agree to trade him, but when someone offers you a million dollars, you take it!

-melbourne may not be as active as people think this year, why? because although Paul Roos has a proven track record of turning battlers into consistent role players, the fact of the matter is, most of the people who are available are shizen.

-if we get Daniel Cross and that is all we get out of this trade period, i would not be entirely surprised

-not many names have been thrown up that have made me think they are a necessity instead of using a draft pick. (apart from the rubbish ones, like shuey and rockliff)

-on a serious note the only player i have heard who we have been offering for a trade is sam blease, while this may not be true i feel that it is not a completely ridiculous idea, i doubt he has much value

-finally, i heard from a direct source that we are going to get (insert really good player) for (insert lowly draft pick/poor player)

We want toughness - then Roos is interested in Lucas, Shepphard, Bootsma and Didak. 4 of the softest going around. Please...

With you on this one BH

and GWS get screwed royally !! That in itself I do't have an issue with, but this seems unrealistic on about 3 fronts

Chinese whispers....they're funnu eh !! :)

Dees will be heavily involved over the next few days, room to move and have a couple likely types Blease, Tapscott on the table

Apparently we have both Blease and Tapscott on the table.....wonder what we could get for them?????

With the prospect of Jamar being traded, maybe we should look at getting Billy Longer.

I wonder if the lions would be interested in pick 2 for Longer and Pick 7? I think that would be a good deal. There could even be a 3 way trade with collingwood so they can get Karnezis maybe.

I would love to steal the hawks possible ruckman from under their noses!

finally, someone has joined in.

trade picks & player for Rockliff & Longer.

if we could add something else to get Docherty as well, then good.

I love this time of year.......So far posters on here have traded all our picks for 210 players coming in......Posters are at each others throats because they disagree on who we should pick up and who we should get rid of......and who knows more than who.....

All our players are either spuds(Hate this term)......or the next star of the competition......Posters are bemoaning that no news is coming out of the club or celebrating that we don't leak like a sieve anymore

I like reading all the opinions but will wait until it is all done and dusted and reappraise after that

Will be in New York when it's all over

Players can't be on traded

Not as such but if thats the outline of the deal from the get go you simply have a multiway deal . Thats fine in itself. Been done before. But this doesnt look like a goer.

Not hogan we need aggressive types.

I'm all for getting Rocky

would like pick 9, but must keep Hogan

I'd rather trade Chip for Shiel & Pick 9, than Hogan?

I fear though Hogan may be another Scott Thompson ie will want to go home after 2 years. The dockers after all have an urgent need for a key forward post Pav. It might make some sense to use that to get the structure we need.

As much as I would adore Hogan to be our Wayne Carey ( which I suspect he is well and truly capable of), we may not be seeing the longer term view here. The forward line is not our major problem, with the possible exception of a quick crumbling type ( a la Betts), but quality mids are.

We need urgently to assess where hogan is at, and this is extremely difficult to do since he has not yet played a game and will be with us for at least the next two years. Over that time, I think we will get our act together re the mid field and we may find ourselves top 4 in two year's time ( yes you heard it here first folks). In those circumstances, hogan might develop a high incentive to stay, in which case our problem disappears. But if we don't, then it may make huge sense to trade him in the next 18 months.
