30 minute thriller

Recommended Posts

It was 2005. Looking at the playing list back then, it wasnt particularly full of stars (eg players like hard nut Godfrey, Nicholson, big Benny Holland(which i remember one commentator said that Garry Ablett/some other gun had more skill in their pinky than Holland did all up). The difference is these guys were giving their all while our current list hasn't being doing so.

Yep. 2005. Ontop of the ladder after round 12 only to then loose 7 in a row and fall out of the 8 needing to win our last 3 to make the finals.

Started with that 1 point win over the Cats, then beat an inform Bulldogs team by 3 points after being down by about 20 with 5 minutes to go and then knocked off Essendon by 10 points in Round 22. Geelong did get revenge though flogging us in the elimination final and King breaking Jeff White's face.

2006 was when we had the draw down there that ended their season as has alreay been mentioned.

What a memory, I was there also. Was that 2006 ? I think we ended there season in that game. Sadly they have gone in to greatness & we have been a disgrace ever since that game.

The Cats smashed us in the first final a few weeks later.

It's actually so sad to think that it's hard for many on here to remember a time when Melbourne was a normal, competitive football team. For the last seven seasons now, we've spent our time in-fighting over new coaches, bad players, who should be dropped, who should be delisted, who to draft, who to trade, how bad our list is, the lack of members/supporters, our financials, so on and so forth.

I can't wait for us to return at some point to just being a regular, competitive footy side, where we spend each week not attacking ourselves, but contemplating which forward set up is going to get us into the finals, or which teams stand between us and a flag, and which of our players are in contention for AA/Brownlows.

The Cats smashed us in the first final a few weeks later.

Smashed us, and White's face. I was in the stands and heard it happen. Sickening.

Although according to Mark Thompson, Stephen King was lucky not to break his foot on Jeff White's face. That was an absolutely demoralizing game.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
