Nothing sinister ?

Adolph redrew a few maps one evening just for fun, nothing sinister.

Youre probably right about one thing actually RPFC.....its very much about perceptions and appearances as far as Vlad ( & Co ) is concerned.

Considering what's at stake Im not surprised for one moment that the Secret Squirrel Protocol was invoked.

I suppose it goes to what anyone considers sinister. maybe we consider it just Dodgy ??

lol

Even it it doesn't 'totally erupt' in public, it may well be a blunder. Even without Hird or anyone saying things now, if AD breached confidence then you'd think ASADA would have already been [censored] off with him for the last few months. And that may well affect how they view any defences the AFL puts up in support of Essendon. Did Essendon gain enough by going first to outweigh this risk? I think not.

there is weight to this.

RPFC, by what right, power or otherwise does Vlad have for usurping the investigation and integrity of ASADA ?

He was told things that I have no doubt were meant to be kept within his own little grey Cells.

He chose to sing like a nightingale instead.

I understand his agenda, that doesnt make it right.

Thats not what David Evans has said, he's backed AD version of events.

hence my post way back... Hird and Corcoran v Evans / Demetriou.

someone is telling porkies....probably all, but which ones and about what ??

Hirds reputation is ruined, AD trying to run a competition and he has to deal with these fools, i feel sorry for him, the Bombers are the people that should be shouldering the blame, and he's had to deal with the fools that where running our club, none of its his doing, as someone else stated be careful what you wish for because the next CEO mightn't think as highly of Melbourne as he does.

Is this as sinister as it is made out?

It was essentially just giving them a head start with regard to PR - their absolution will not arrive, the penalties would not be mitigated by that press conference way back when.

Convince me this is sinister.

I read that Vlad was given a confidential briefing by ASADA - confidential. Now IF he told any club about that in advance then that is "improper conduct" at best.

And never forget that it is Vlad who has always been going on about "the integrity of the game"! Hypocritical??

Board meeting...

That must make you all warm and fuzzy inside.

Sooner the better..

Your a crackpot wyl.

oh its the ol Ends justifies the mean thing....oh...OK

elaborate on this mjt...

I don't have to elaborate, I think your 20,000 posts speak for themselves.

The Essendrug situation is reaching its crescendo.

Heads are going to fall...is this a problem to you?

You may well be right that the next CEO might be worse for MFC than AD. And he may well be great for the AFL generally. And Essendon and the MFC may have been run by fools. I'm not going to argue any of that, but I'm surprised you defend him on this. Surely he has made a mistake here regardless of how well you think he has done his job otherwise.

The way I see it Sue is its AD and Evans version against Hird and Robson, Hird passes the buck at every opportunity and he is the head coach, if he jabbed my boy 40 to 50 times with peptides I would break his jaw, I can't see how anyone would take James word over AD, that's just my opinion sue.

I'm with you on Hird. But it didn't need the AD & Evans vs. Hird & Robson barney for me to assume that AD did tip them off one way or another. As I posted elsewhere it is possible AD didn't explicitly tip off Essendon during the conversation in dispute. But given Essendon was the team that was under general suspicion at the time, any indication that ASADA was on the warpath would be a tip off, especially if Essendon was the only club contacted!

I don't think I am the only person who assumed there had been a tip off when within a few days after the Essendon media event ASADA did theirs. AD has not denied he had a briefing - he just says they didn't tell me which club. But blind Freddy within AFL circles knew Essendon was under general suspicion.

I think that the sooner James Hird takes responsibility for his actions the better off the situation will be.

That would be like asking Neil Craig not to wear shorty shorts. It ain't gonna happen.

Board meeting...

Is that the regular Board meeting like when they sacked Sheedy??

Hird may well be in a spot of bother if he's got AD pitted against him

Sam Newmans weekly tirade trying to prosecute Essendons case is very suspicious in itself. What/who is Newman trying to protect here? and why?

The trouble with all this saga is ALL the lads in this industry including Demetriou know where the skeletons are. This could make or break the AFL.

"David, I don't know what the club is", AD...well that tells me that AD has told Evans there is an investigation otherwise why would he be pushing the don't know what the club is..what club? why does it matter? what's going on? wasn't it supposed to be confidential information? He didn't find out the club until after the ACC Fed govt presser, so no he didn't know the club but he certainly did know there was an investigation and gave Essendon reason to go public.

Well...as I've said before they were tipped off that a club was under investigation and it didn't take a genius to add up 1+1 and come up with it was us, Essendon.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
