Sylvia- 3 year extension

Watts - 4 years

hogan - 5 years

frawley - 3 years

all before round 1 2014 imo

No more 5 yr contracts, Please...

imo it only grows complacency.

if we become the club to be we won't need these sort of inducements. players will want to stay & want to come here... that is the only 5Yr plan needed.

Hey Adam - I can't agree with this.

It wasn't manipulative journalism - many of us observed Roos making the comments on air - prior to games and on On The Couch (including the journalists).

I think everyone appreciated that the club, indeed the AFL, were right into landing Roos - but I don't think anyone really knew what he was ultimately going to do, even the journos.

There seemed to be an underlying logic here that because Hird stated that he had no interest in landing the Dons gig, and then took it Judas style, that Roos would/could do the same thing. That 'logic' didn't make sense to me at the time, and, to be honest, it still doesn't. It seemed to be based on pure 'wish thinking' to me. Simply because one person does one thing, doesn't mean that someone else (with an entirely different character) would do exactly the same thing.

On face value, the publicly known evidence until very recently quite clearly pointed to the viewpoint that Roos coaching the MFC next year would be highly unlikely.

It seems to me that that has now changed - thankfully! - but I hardly think there was an absence of 'logic' to the thinking over recent months that he would not be coaching us in 2014.

It's the same lack of foresight that is being applied to Jack Watts. I'm not saying people were stupid not to realise Roos was coming. I'm lampooning the fact that he was no chance to come based on saying that he had "no interest at this time". MFC people were cynical, negative and poured water on it, because they didn't think something extraordinary could happen at Melbourne. You're a quality poster RB, but even you've said let's move on, he's not coming. All I'm saying is that it was obvious he still had some interest. You simply don't carefully word your responses with "yet" and "at the moment" without seriously considering it.

With Jack Watts people are taking a few quotes and reading whatever they want to believe into it. It's unfortunate, but it's being swayed by the media too easily.

Scott Selwood is a gem. Would love him at the club. Whilst it may not be possible to get him over, players of his calibre would be interested in joining the club if Roos signs on. Exciting times ahead i hope

I go back to the mid 60's This wouldnt make up for the hurt since those days, but its the best news since RDB came back to the club

I'll throw in Templeton, Tilbrook for starters as getting my hopes up, they bombed.

a reflection of bad choices, in hindsight... & quick fixes... Moore helped us a bit, to get some belief, thru being more competative, then the changeover helped, eventually to ignite the list.

but the base skills & attitudes were already sewn into those kids & the club... just waiting for a turn of the page & a realisation that if it is to be, then its up to ??

We had Ignition, then liftoff.... the return to base was the start of the slacking off.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!

What wrong with FROGS?

I have dozens of them in my yard and I really enjoy them and they can make as much noise as they want.

Their sounds are music to my ears, mind you Mrs Frog said I could sleep thought a nuclear war.

But I would not be surprised if you think for some strange reason I like Frogs.

Quite a well written article by Jake Niall in Real Footy today... drawing parallels between the Barassi to Roos move and the likely Roos to Demons move.

Was thinking this the other day, very similar as Barassi to North...and I know Ron would be wrapped to have Roos at Melbourne.

Not cool.

Apologies for disturbing you and your pedantry UTAH on this lovely sunny Sunday

But, and please excuse my pedantry, it is all rumour until it is confirmed officially... or are you, as your name would imply, simply driving the narrative forward?

Mark Stevens on Gameday just said that Roos had a meeting with PJ yesterday and some directors. Offer of 1.5 million put forward.

All coaches wages are just speculation by very jealous reporters.....

Those with good taste would find my avatar attractive and something to aspire to.

BBO everything seems to look better to me this weekend than it was a few days ago after the 50/50 news. But can't say your avatar is in any way appealing at this stage

Was wondering about that myself considering how they seem to have been caught behind on this story all the way through. Seems to be a 500k band between Denham and Stevens.

Our benevolent dictator PJ hasn't given much away, has he? the leaks have dried up for now.

If one is to unscramble the word "alpacas", the answer is simple... "as a clap" which is an obvious allusion to the oft used zen koan "the sound of one hand clapping", which everyone knows is a question with no answer.

So now we've got 1.5, 1.6 and 2. that leaves a few spots left for Ralphy and Robbo to get on board and I'm sure Hutchy will have his own figure.
