Seems unnecessary from the ox. Just inflames the situation.

No doubt McLardy should go but you shouldn't blindly call for his head unless you are running or supporting a run for the board. Especially as a past player. Or calling for Freeman.

Same thing goes for sacking Neeld. We can't make that decisions as fans we need to support the club.

This article is everything that is wrong with Melbournes culture!!! Silly from ox.

Unwelcome! Enough of standing outside the tent and pissing in.

He's been down the club mentoring forwards and having meetings with the board, so at least he's pissing in his own tent.

And public comments like this is the reason he should never, ever be elected to the board our be president.

Stuie, who told you that, he came in once to see Don McLardy and made sure everybody knew, never heard he is mentoring forwards and never seen him doing it, he came in once to talk to 1st yr players re the perils of gambling etc, he does that as a job as well

Two great players for MFC, Robbie Flower and the Ox, one came in to chat and encourage the volunteers who were ringing around trying to get members to re sign, the other wrote an article hoping the team he supposedly loves gets smashed, which one would you call a Club champion?

You should know exactly what you get from David Schwartz by now.

As said earlier, it's misdirected passion.

He doesn't mean hoping to lose, he means that he's tired of losing games by an 'acceptable' 40-60 points and he wants the losses to make an impact.

He's offered to help a number of times.

He, unlike Garry Lyon, will do whatever it takes to help this club.

Did you hear him on Open Mike? Do you listen to his show on SEN?

Complete, unbridled, utter rubbish to suggest that the Ox doesn't love this football club.

That is my point, why do it, sour grapes again?

Unfortunately everyone loves Ox and by making such a statement he is creating more angst amongst the supporter base. If Ox says it , it must be true. Don't know that we really need this from a high profile Melbourne person at the moment but he obviously feels passionately enough to risk some of the good work that he has been doing at the Club.

HFF, no one doubts he loves the club, but if he wants to help he needs to pick up the phone and call Neeld or Don and say "guys, I'm here to do whatever you want me to do, how can I help?" And not sitting back saying "these guys are crap, and no one even asks me to help!"

At the moment he just comes off as a bit of an idiot, shooting his mouth off and doing damage without understanding what he is doing our saying.

You've been waiting at the door 24/7 then I presume? What a silly statement.

I recall Schwarz saying something along the lines of he'd "sell his house before letting the Dees go under". Does that sound like someone who doesn't love the club? Ask yourself, would you do that?

Questioning the Ox's love for the club is a ridiculous thing to try to do and by doing so you discredit the other points you're trying to make.

He did that. When he had that meeting with McLardy he came out and said exactly that.

I am sorry but as a Dee's supporter I have never had the desire to watch my team lose at any point. It's a very sad article, written by a passionate ex player who happens also happens to be in the media. All of these factors make me question this article. The other part of this that is really tragic is that when unity is required we have ex-players like Schwartz and Healy taking pot shots and trying to divide the club. People are saying that if we continue to lose games and have MN as coach our club will die off, but article like this from former players create havoc and are like a cancer that will eat away on the inside. I have alway held The Ox with some regard but not after this article.

On Sunday we have Gerard Healy saying MN is gonski once the board met on monday. All the media outlets treating it like its gospel, then when it does not happen they all cry foul and say it was a non-decision. Biggest beat up ever and what a waste of resources and time for the journo's who spent waiting all day to get given nothing. The only reason it had credence is because Healy's brother is on the board but journos being the sensationalist they are equated this to a certainty it was going to happen. I lmao by the end of the day and listening to Gerard over in Perth having a sulk because he thought his brother could get it done. Obviously knows his football but he has got no idea of what type of politics goes on with boards.

This is the world I reckon Ox is trying drum up support to enter into and he is going to find out that he should stay in radio. Because on the radio if you don't agree with someone you just hang up on them and push your own agenda. In a board there no hanging up you actually have to argue and win your fellow directors over to your side. You can't bully them or cajole them you need to to convince enough of them to carry your agenda forward. This is all done whilst dealing with the agenda's both hidden and open of all your fellow directors.

But I digress.

For Shame Ox For Shame you may speak for some Dee's fans but you do not speak for me in this matter.

And maybe they are using their better judgement and keeping him away from the place? Maybe his skills aren't in coaching or administrating and he would add nothing others already aren't adding?

He loves the club, I don't doubt it, but if he had any brains he would publicly be rallying the troops, calling supporters to get involved and get to games, and privately discussing with Don McC that feel thinks things need to change, OR using his own networks and contacts to put together an alternative ticket.

Public bagging the club doesn't help anyone, is divisional and its probably contributing to three long term harm.

Could you imagine a hopeful politician, a member of the liberal party who wants to be preselected to run at the next election, publicly bashing the existing liberal candidate in that seat? It wouldn't happen because it's bad politics and its divisive. All it does is prove he isn't capable off being a board member.

Loved the Ox fit and firing as much as anyone but pot kettle really when I read his book he admits that he at times did not give 100 per cent due to his of field distractions. I'm sticking with Neeld and McLardy who are giving us 100 per cent.

i totally agree with ox!

weve played 8 games at the G (let me remind you that its our home) this year, lost 7. 6 of them by over 10 goals!

Im sick of hearing 'oh well, we gave it our all, its all you can ask for' after we get whacked by 10 goals. since when is a 10 goal loss acceptable? Neeld has dug himself this mess, and i dont know how people who really count (the board) dont see that he is not the one to get us out of it. Lets be honest, there is a 0.01% chance of Neeld coaching us next year. So why keep the bad smell hanging around the club? Why delay the inevitable? The later you leave it, the less interest the 1) players and 2) the fans have. What harm could be done by sacking Neeld NOW!?

By no means did i want GWS to beat us in round 4, but all that did was delay the inevitable too, as do these 1-2 quarters of displayed effort/okay footy a week.

We need to hit rock bottom, and i mean ROCK BOTTOM for the board to get rid of Neeld.

Fans have already said that enough is enough, have a look around; no one is going to matches. (before anyone asked, yes i do go).

A good old walloping may be needed for Mclardy and co. to realise that too, enough is enough.

Can me all you want, but im willing to sacrifise a(nother) 150 point loss in order to look forward to the future. Even if we dont have a future coach, we need to get rid of Neeld, before his coaching/culture spreads like cancer, any more.

The Ox is not quite right to say fans are leaving because of Neeld.if they are leaving, it's because we are being thrashed every week. However, a change might keep them coming.

Actually HFF if you read the posts above yours you will see that nobody has suggested that DS does not love the MFC, merely that he modus operandi of demonstrating his love is as effectual as that of G Lyon or Gerard Healey. We can do without it!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
