GAME DAY - Round 8

Richmond scum everywhere. Looking at about 10-1 ratio at least

Go out and try and bloody Win, i know the coaches don't care as long as you show effort but there is no reason we can't push the tigers who really aren't that great.

Heyy I'm meeting up with an old mate who's black & yellow thru and thru. Every club has their knucklehead supporters and fair ones Demon. They're no different to us imo.

But you're right on the head count. Heading in on train now & if I was being very optimistic I'd be betting about 8 to 2. I feel like an alien who's landed on the wrong planet

I have the lube and I am ready, raring to go!

It saddens me that even if it were our home game it'd be that way anyway :(

3 Things.

Tackle

Spread

Get the ball in Davey's hands more often.

If I can just add....

Kick goals

Win

But if there are positives it doesn't matter if they win.

Or kick goals.

Or tackles.

Or get the ball.

No late change. Bail sub.

Bring on Jimmy Mags

Davey full game, I like it.

I also thought we should've taken Ball at pick 18.

The club had an opportunity to be ruthless (and could afford to with the luxury of 4 top 20 picks) but of course let Collingwood have their man.

exactly. My heart sank that day.

The AFL Competition has given us many opportunities to improve in the past 6-7 years.

We have just refused to take them.

Sitting at home today watching on TV, hopefully can take the ride with you guys, hope it's not as bad as I think it's going to be!

Time to lube up.

Mark says we won't be using any lube, it's gonna be bareback and rough.

Every time I look at the Tigers lineup I wonder how they're ahead of us. Take out Cotchin, Martin, Deledio and Riewoldt and you're really not left with much.

At home with the man flu that is closer to death than life, not sorry I won't be there.

Sad tab odds $51 to win over 25 20to39 paying $41

They may not be left with much, but, melbourne virtually have nothing at all.

What would be the odds of 25+ over the Hawthorne or Geelong.

Intensity ok so far... hope they can continue

Breaking even at present, but it always has a feel that we are hanging on and the other team will break us open and do it easily

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
