I would happily take Billings at pick 1 on what i have seen, his kicking is amazing, he runs harder than anyone on the ground and he would be ready to go ...

Meh, sounds like Tom Scully. How much does his old man weigh?

GC won't let him go easily, it'll take a first round pick, if watts wants to leave, trade him for pick 15-20 and then pass that on for prestia, or outright trade watts for prestia if GC are interested in that

Can't see anyway they'd let him walk for a second round pick, and we would have to be very careful to make sure we get the first pre season pick selection if that fails.

We will finish bottom or second bottom. GCS have no leverage. We could snare him in the PSD if he nominates us and puts a Luke Ball like price on his head. Our second rounder will be #20-25.

Swap of first round draft picks could get it done depedning on where both teams finish, especially if we get Pick 1 as a priority selection to go with pick 2 or 3 or whatever? Might also have to give them a sweetener like Bail, McKenzie or Strauss?

Lol. The old sweetners in Bail, McKenzie and Strauss.

LOL this all over again. Throw in Seller, Nicholson and Dunn to get the deal across the line. If they're lucky we ll include Joel Mc

We ain't going to get anyone interested until we get a quality coach and back that up with a competent Full time CEO.

I struggle to see how MFC would be attractive to anyone but a masochist ATM.

I think Chris "I made the right decision" Dawes would disagree

There is no point in getting any new player to the club until we get our [censored] together, we will just destroy them, like we have the current crop in the poisonous atsmophere at our club.

We don't know what we've got at the moment, some of our players might be, given the right coach and the right circumstances, very good players.

Didn't read the article - but I'd imagine we would take anyone at the moment.

Smashed N Jones on the weekened and a player who can win his own ball is a novelty on our list

The novelty line is very funny and yet true.

Didnt realise he had such strong family links to the Dees.

Just the player we need.

We may also have to sacrifice a couple of good talls to trade for quality mids.

Maybe Jamar, Frawley?

I know it hurts to trade Frawley but we are desperate for good mids and have to give up something good to get something good.

I gather you've just come into the game. You must have have a great midfield but not at the expense of good talls at either end. Frawly head and shoulders above our other modest tall backs.

Have you noticed carlton have one of the best midfields buth without an elite set of backs or forwards struggles to make the 8.

Fancy giving up Jamar and relying on Spencer.

A former diehard supporter who hates seeing the Dees in the shite and might want to help out? It's not impossible.

I really don't understand so many people 'don't pay overs' and I also don't understand people (often the media) saying we paid overs for Dawes and Clark.

  • We are terrible beyond comparison.
  • Our players don't perform.
  • We have salary cap room.

Go out and spend what ever it takes to get two a-grade mids to the club. Requirements of one is that they average 25+ disposals. We need someone who can win their own ball. I don't care if we overspend on the free agent market (offer Daisy $900 k a year, damn if Scully is worth it, Daisy is worth it to us), or overspend with draft picks (I would entertain pick 2 and Watts for Prestia and a second round pick if it got him here).

Add two mids to the team who can win the ball and we look very different, and we are winning ball and we are streaming forward. Average players look like great players when they have other great players around them.

Least we on the right track, he sounds like the player we could entice.

Coming home to victoria. family links to club. What are the other enticements ?

Maybe a free fruit platter courtisy of his uncles.

Love it how people think Watts will score us a good player in return.

I don't think he will score us a good player without other enticements, but he is one of the best we can offer. And as a sweetener he isn't bad. Much better than Jetter or Bail as a sweetener, which has no value.

He is highly skilled and has potential. A lot of other clubs would expect to utilise him, and in a strong team I would expect he would be able to do what he does best - use the ball well. Imagine his kick to a player actually leading to him?

He must be thinking that now when he played his first game for MFC against GCS.

Dawes is a masochist

Who is this Jetter you amazingly knowledgeable man?

Prestia for our 2nd round pick 20.

If not, then Suns can get stuf%#fed and we will nab him in PSD.

Dylan Shiel from Giants for our pick #2. He is the gun we need.

Agreed

But if we can get Shiel and keep our pick 2 that's the gold

It's enough for people to be suggesting Dion Prestia... but to say Shiel as well??

If Prestia's family have some ties at the club there's a tenuous link but why the hell would Shiel want to come to us (over ANY of the other 17 clubs) and why would GWS let him go?

I know we need a good news story / hope at the moment but this is ridiculous - we're only setting ourselves up to be disappointed. I'm not saying it's not worth trying but let's not get carried away!

Never paid much attention to Prestia but holy hell he is a big unit.

Can't see why you'd leave Gold Coast for our basket case but give him the $cully reason maybe there's hope!!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
