Why is running around to try to get on his left all the time then?

He just laid a brilliant run down tackle.

D Rod with a goal, 63-41 now.

Fitzpatrick has a real presence as a forward.

That's a good question, as a junior he was so good on both sides that no one was sure what his natural kicking foot was.

I don't know but he's a natural right footer.

Fair stretch to say he's great both sides of the body though Steaming. Not from what I've seen.

Hartlett has never been as timid as Toumpas. It was injuries that held him back, not intensity.

In saying that some great defensive work from Toumpas just now on the half back flank, resulting in a forward movement that saw a goal kicked by Bonaddio.

How do you know that, have watched all Hartletts games since his drafting?

The reports are great guys keep up the good work. Ive never really followed the VFL but its good to see the scorps winning

I'd imagine I've watched nearly all of Hartlett's games and about 2 years of him training.

He's a jet. Injuries cruelled him.

fair enough.. I reckon Toumpas will be fine... as long as we take our time with him, & let him develop. I hope we don't rush him.

Has the tide just turned Jack? :)

It has. We copped some flack when we let GWS get 19 points ahead of us. The media are going to go nuts about this no matter how much the Bombers win by today.

He is a good kick but hasn't settled at AFL level yet. I think he will take the wrong option and back himself to hit targets that are less than 50/50, and also because he can he uses his wrong foot when he should go to his natural. There is still a bit of smart A in Sam and he needs to let it go to realise his potential.

Its all relative, isn't it.

we'll be a lot better once we get a good handle on the Zone were building, & the bigger bodies in, & up to zone speed.

hopefully we go a bit better in the next couple of weeks, & by the mid-season, IMO we'll look like a different team, altogether.

Message to mids at three quarter time - first 10 minutes vital, work harder for longer!

17 tackles that quarter - almost as many in total as first half.

Lower yr eyes going i50.

Blease - earned respect with that quarter.

Welsh - make a statement. Take em on, earn the rewards! Great pump up.

Not much chop comparing Blease's game last week with this week. He copped a whack to the head, labored badly in the heat and then was subbed off. The opposition today isn't anywhere as tough I would imagine.

Thanks so much for the score updates, really appreciate it, how's dawes and fitz and toumpas looking at the moment?

Posted

Well he just used his right and hit the target no drama.

Crouch gets it to Dawes, goal.

71-47 now deep in the third.

DA, every time you bag a player they do something great and we get a goal.

Keep up the good work!

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
