I was down at Sorrento with my family today (if you see the afl story Demons escape heat at Sorrento) my family were in the background. The best way for my four boys to keep the faith in the Dees in these tough times is to meet and talk with the players. I must say Jack Trengrove and Nathan Jones were really good with my boys but the stand out again was Jak Watts he was fantastic, kicking the ball with them and posing for photos, this is really good for morale. I know about all the negative talk and feeling and frustration, I feel it too. But to boo and turn our backs on our club at this point in time what does that achieve??

I have sent and email to David Schwarz to see if he can mention the details re training on his show. I am not sure if he will? It is worth a try.

Garry Lyon might be willing to mention it on the footy show/footy classified - is that on Thursday nights? (i don't watch it)

demondame, I suggest we aim to be there around 9:30 for a listed 9:45 start to training. As it is Friday, the senior group will probably train lightly for 45 minutes or so. Some may even remain inside. However, if our numbers are impressive, word might get around that this is a training session not to be missed. The idea is to simply let the playing group know that we are a resilient bunch who will support them as they find a way to turn the season around.

I thought this quote from Dr Who over at 'Ology very relevant to what were trying to achieve on Friday morning. It comes from the thread about the volunteer membership drive. (the underlining and bold text are mine)

"Go Dees
First & Forever

Just for the record this membership drive programme really opens your eyes to the real MFC. We have had ex-players (Stevie Powell) at our nights, Mark Neeld & Neil Craig. CS popped in and I got the chance to have a chat with him. You read so much rubbish about our club in the media - please sorry to take a Molly Meldrum quote - but "do yourself a favor" come and see the real MFC."

Ellie McKenzie is going to make sure the Training gets tweeted today, and corresponding with Burgo to get it up on website, we need a few more twitterers......Good morning to the 2 musketeers WYL and Dr Gonzo, do you think Caroline Wilson will make our efforts out to be delusional......

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
