Keyboard Warriors

I actually did call them and they put me straight though to Mark Neeld. We had a 30 minute chat about accountability and competitiveness, but we also went over some ideas I had for a rolling press and stoppage structures. He told me he was going to implement some of my ideas. He them put me though to Schwabby and we went over some financial stuff before I gave him a compliment sandwich (good on finances, concerned about his effect on culture and on the football department, good laying low when the shite hits the fan). He took it all well.

And now you understand why I vent on D'Land, because the paid professionals pay other professionals to keep my opinion away from them so they can do their job.

But thanks for trying to make my anger feel pointless. It's certainly a unique approach to people's disappointment. You could be a life coach.

That's funny, I rang Mark Neeld and he said to pop in and he'll give me a power point presentation to alleviate my concerns.

This would have to be the most ridiculous thread. I am happy to put my name to anything I write, thing is nobody would give a shite because I am just a nobody. And I would love to sit down and talk about the club face to face and talk about my issues, but obviously they wouldn't listen.

I msged a friend of mine whos a player at the club. I didnt have a go, was more of a question of what happened

I bet he loved that. Did you get a response?

Yeah I got a response. Not sure if I should disclose what he said though

Did you get a response?

I got a thank you for your e-mail, a cut and pasted message from Don McLardy and another thank you for writing. No 'we would like you to keep going to the football, don't lose faith'. But then again, they probably got a boat load of e-mails and it would have been hard to personalize them all.

Thanks for being real. Over this positivity for obfuscations sake.

Sarcasm?

All good, sometimes hard to pick up on here

Go on. Just paraphrase, and leave out anything that personally identifies your mate.

In a nutshell really he was shocked at what happened. Feel like they owe it to the fans. He doesnt know what really went wrong, preseason was good, everyone was confident.

I wish I could post the convo because its a lot better than what ive just written, I dont want to betray the trust of a mate as it wasnt meant for a public forum.

Although there are many keyboard warriors on here and Fanfooty.com.au

i do agree with a whole lot of the keyboard warriors on this website, but my issue is that when push comes to shove the keyboard warriors cant back themselves up

I agree that the players really didn't see this coming, just goes to show that you can prepare perfectly but the best preparation in the world still means you have to try your guts out on game day.

By all means, email the club. All of them get read. Just don't call and abuse the receptionist or membership team.

Congrats to the volunteers that went in again tonight, apparently managed to get over 20 signed up, significant after that shambolic weekend.

I volunteer to come and sit on reception the next time we have a fiasco as long as I'm allowed to argue with the callers.

That would be fantastic!

Good luck with your exam afterwards!

That receptionist deserves the biggest pay raise of all time.

Agree with this. I got a personalised response to my email from Georgina, carrying the title of "Customer Relations Officer". Would be a bloody horrible job at this point in time, and yet she and the office team still manage to respond to most emails and deal with what would for the most part be a very frustrated mob. I tip my hat to them.

Give her half of Silvias pay that would make it worthwhile

Pretty much according to the Club Handout then: the Party Line: NFI.

You aren't a nobody FD-you are a Demon.

The darkest hour is before the storm.

Been dark for a while but it never lasts.

Well isn't that a worry?

They don't actually have any idea, Pretty much as Neeld said.

How about effort, tackling, intensity, aggression and running. ANd when you are buggered keep running and tackling and showing aggression, ANd then run some more.

Thats what you train for. Not to be good in training but to perform.

I'm really worried now about our coaching staff. If thats possible.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
