It's certainly better than Mitch Clark's Ultratune ad or Jack Watts for Energy Watch (though it was hardly their fault that in both cases the other people in the ad were amongst the worst actors of all time) but any feeling that we're special quickly passed when it was revealed you can see almost exactly the same ad but with the Sydney Roosters and different opposition training venues in New South Wales.

There's a set of guidelines for advertising cars that prohibit them from displaying anything that would be considered illegal on the roads on an ad. The only way around it is to ensure that the ad displays an environment which could not, under any circumstances, be mistaken for the real world.

That's why there was a sudden prevalence of "video game" style ads a few years back.

Yeah, it's a sensitive environment. Last year Suzuki got into strife with their Swift Sport ad for just a little spirited driving in a car park, showing a bit too much cleavage and implying that the car got her a bit excited.
