What Clubs Do You Love To Hate?

Featured Replies

i don't mind Collingwood as much as other teams, probably because I am young and don't know so much about the history between us but there is nothing I dislike more than losing to Carlton - they are arrogant, cheats and a much better side than us. Kills me in the week leading up to when we play them and the result is already decided. Plus my mum and sister are Carlton.

Richmond as well because they are pretty rubbish but think they are much much better than what they are.

Essendon - arrogance and a false sense of elitism.

Brisbane - band wagon jumpers, on and off, who know little about the game.

Without doubt!!!!

Adelaide Crows!!!

You try living in this $hithole and tell me otherwise!

Yeah. Living in SA is hell for anyone who doesn't support Adelaide or (in some areas) Port Adelaide.

am amazed how much I have changed in the last ten years.

Two sides stand out for me

Adelaide by a country mile.

West Coast Eagles.

Then day light to Collingwood.

The rest do not worry me

Carlton : is there a more corrupt organization within the Western World? For them to go free for the 2007 Kruezer Cup just galvinizes my absolute disdain & Anger. I refuse to eat in Carlton.

The Filth : History dictates that i do. Most happy to comply.

Essendrug :2000. Surviving Windy Hill. Essendrug have an arrogance all their own. Hate & Loath

Adelaide : They represent South Australia. Enough said

Meth Coast : Do what they want & get away with it. Benny's Doco is enough!

Ninthmond : In the 70's they were Tattoos and no teeth, and they won every saturday night on the replay. Nightmares.

The Shockers : theme Song. The worst durge.

Port Adelaide : Who? Should never have been admitted to the AFL. Simply not big enough. Will always be on the Dole. Thanks Wayne Jackson.

Whorethorn : self explanatory. No other side has beaten us up since 1971 like these hideous bastards

The Swannettes : Dunkley & Barry Hall GF Appearances. Totally AFL contrived

Footscray : 1954..how dare they. Could have been 7 in a row!!

Nought Melbourne : there is room for only one Melbourne in Melbourne

The Aints : My brother defected, i still ask him why.

The Handbags : One Town One Stadium. Yes i am jealous

Brisbane Bears : Feeding off the dead carcus of Fitzroy amid laughter. I remember the handover press conference

GW$ : A Tax dodge

GC $un$ : irrelevent & totally unnecessary

I Hate all of the MFC opponents for the above reasons.

Nothing will change.

Carlton..Every time I go a Melb vs Carlton game I seem to meet up with some psychopath Carlton supporter who wants to fight me....Had one guy who hissed at me for some reason, take the whole lot of them and lock em up I say

Note I am not a belligerent man, just someone who likes to watch the footy and barrack a bit.

Obviously hatred of other teams stems from the supporter base that surround us at games. For me, Whorethorn stands out as the worst supporter base in the AFL - arrogant, born to rule attitude they have makes me ill. My blood begins to boil the week leading up to when we need to play them - bloody cockroaches!!!

1.Collingwood despise the Club and its supporters. I grew up with cousins barracking for the Woods and had to go to the football with them. Sheer agony. The day Ronnie Wearmouth (I think) king hit Flower before the game and nearly being beaten over head by a feral Collingwood supporter with her umbrella. Funny now but not at the time.

2.Essendon- witnessing supporters spit at their team as they went down the race and the disgraceful 2000 incident with Dean Wallis who knew prior to the game he was retiring.

3. Carlton - the most despicable, arrogant and unreasonable supporters and now even more given what they have got away with.

4. Hawthorn - pompous supporters and hate that they have come so far from the time of merger (and we haven't)

Quite like going to the football with Swans and Bulldog supporters - usually reasonable

I admire Geelong for what they have achieved and also love the chant Geeeeeelong - always makes me laugh

Richmond - what can you say. I just feel sorry for them - bunch of no hoper supporters - nearly as bad as Collingwood

I fully endorse LS's dislikes. I quite like St Kilda too as I went to school with Carl Dietrich [who later captain-coached Melbourne] and also my great-grandfather played for them and was the first player ever reported at Princess Park in 1898

Easy answered: Essendon. I remember all the peanuts who gave me crap over the 2000 GF.

They're all *unts!

Well put.

I love to hate "The Mile High Club"

Smug, jetsetting,randy bastards.

I always get some churchy grandma on one side and a big fat smelly bastard on the other.

Carlton

Some other clubs a long way back.

Loathe the supporters (know too many of them)

Loathe the Administration past and present (including those who have moved into positions (allegedly) away from the club such as Collins)

Loathe many of the players (eg Robinson Judd and McLean)

Just hate the cheats

This surprises me. I'd have thought a suave, urbane, smooth talker like you would have been a cert for that club.

I am surprised at the level of hate on here.

I thought us MFC supporters were a bunch of gentleman.

Shame Shame!

Essendon by a hypodermic needle to Carlton, by a brown paper bag to North.

North deserve more hate than we accord them. Whiny pr1cks they are.

Still holding out hope for a Jetstar flight to Launceston in the near future.

If you aim low enough in life, you can avoid disappointment.

I don't hate Norf any more or less than the others but I cannot stand that snivelling little [censored] Harvey.

Yeah you could be really lucky and bag a seat next to one those two headed types.

don't get too excited bbo, its only heads they have two of

I'm another that has never bought in to the Collingwood "rivalry" - sure they've got an army of ferals and Eddie is annoying, but for the most part most of their supporters that I interact with are bearable. Except my eldest brother; not sure there's anyone in the world more annoying than him when they're up. I find it a little cringeworthy that some cling on to a rivalry from the 1950s, especially when that rivalry has only been one-way for decades now.

Anyway, Essendon is #1 on my list for all the reasons already mentioned. The fact that we've had the wood on them in the years we've been otherwise utterly abhorrent makes my life as an MFC supporter bearable for one week every year.

Geelong are my most hated! don't ask me why because i'm not exactly sure why, i just do, but it might have something to do with the fact that i cannot stand stevie J! Next would be adelaide and then carlton.

This is good YD. You don't have to have a reason to hate the others. You just do it.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
