Boozy Dees Ejected from G on Boxing Day

You missed the point.

Neeld's quote is not in reference to how the players spend their free time, and is in no way a "fail."

Only a fool would contend otherwise.

There's no naivety, nor suggestion that Neeld wouldn't care.

You've imagined that.

And the "diaries", or lists of requirements to be met before returning from break would place no restriction on what the players are able to with the rest of their time off.

You missed the point my friend. I wasn't defending the post you replied to, but what I was saying is that it's a bit naive to think the coaching staff wouldn't be interested in what the players are up to in their free time. These (poor) guys get micromanaged every day and there's no doubt Neeld and Co would be keeping an eye out.

As for the diaries... No restrictions? Surely you're kidding... They might not lay down precise rules as such but they would lay down expectations, and if you think those expectations would be lax in any way then you're in for a big surprise.

Can you guys just PM each other please. You're hijacking far too many threads with all this BS. Ta.

If there's been two more self-indulgent and boring posters to have emerged at Demonland I'd like to know who they are.

Rhino and WYL .

better still they could get a room (in the country)

Of course the coaches would be interested. I agree.

But, as we seem to agreem, it's not tantamount to a "fail" in reference to the Neeld quote.

I don't think there'd be any restrictions as such - only a list of outcomes that must be completed at different intervals over that "free" period.

Adhering to certain unwritten restrictions may impact on the players' ability to achieve to those outcomes, but I doubt it'd be explicitly spelled out for them.

Further proof you don't actually know what you're on about, Rhino.

I challenged the inference that the beer Cup snake was made up of beers drunk by the players.

It did not call for your klutz level explanation. Are you as good with duplo as well.

And this is a moderator? Pretty poor.

There's an article in the age that actually supports everything I said.

You just can't accept the possibility of being wrong, can you?

Like I said previously, I'm clearly not your intellectual equal, so once again, I'll leave it there.

I didn't see that article and asked for a link. I have already stated my assertion.

Rather bizarre you carry on about intellectual equality. Something itching the shoulder?

Anyway, I agree. How can I compete with an expert in beer snakes?

Anyway get back to the duplos and dazzle yourself with how much you know.

From the article...

"Most AFL players don't sit in the old Bay 13 building beer trains," the witness said.

Sorry I thought this might infer that the players were building the snake.

Must have misinterpreted.

Mark Neeld Aug 22, 2012

The Dees are an "inexperienced group of footballers developing elite habits.

Fail.

Well, still "developing". Hope Neeld holds his line here. Schoolteacher and all...

Completely harmless but stupid. Can't say any of those lads have ever struck me as having too much between the ears. Chip can barely construct a sentence when interviewed.

I don't need rocket scientists Forest Demon just young men who can play the game at a high level and get us into the top six of the competition over the next 3 -4 years.

Beyond that I don't care what they do at the cricket on boxing day.

Stuie, get over it. This is december- no football. This is the time to talk BS and have a bit of fun.

BH I like your training reports but don't talk to me about boring. You are what used to be called a sanctimonius prig. Your head is so far up- southern parts or your anatomy that actually take yourself seriously - give me a break.

Do you know you are insulting the "Big Footy IQ" here.

Aren't you afraid of reprisal?

You might be ignored-sent to the big Coventry in the land of BH.

Time for another CW article so we can focus on someone else and stop eating our own.

Carry On..

No. This is a footy board, not a chat room for you two. Take it elsewhere, we're all sick of it. Start up your own thread if you like, just stop ruining other threads that are meant to be about news and views relating to MFC.

IMO the decision the players made was just plain dumb

As long as they learn from it

I am with you mate. As I said, it is basically harmless, just a bit stupid. To be honest, I will have completely forgotten about this issue by the turn of the year, and as long as it isn't hurting anyone and it doesn't affect their footy which a few drinks while on holiday won't, then I don't really give a [censored].

These are old views and its hardly news.

Do you have no insight into the farcical nature of footy obsessed computer coaching?

The opinions expressed on here are allowed to vary.

Maybe we need a brain damaged thread for those who like to repeat the same side of an argument ten times in the same demonstratively boring way.

I've never pretended to be, or tried to be 'likeable'. It looks like I've succeeded. But I also try not to bore the crap out of others and spend copious amounts of time wasting theirs. Unfortunately, that's your one and only gift to this site. Along with your mate. Happy to leave it there.

Can anyone confirm that the players were not in bays 11-14 ? I see it as somewhat significant.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
