Hickey to Saints for 13 and an exchange of later picks.

Hickey for Goddard what a bitter pill to swallow

Surely not...

What has Hickey shown so far?

For pick 13, I'd be wanting Zach Smith or Gorringe.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere it could be hickey 26 and 46 for pick13 that sounds I little better for saints?

Hickey has shown no more than Stef Martin. I hope any deal we do for him (if we let him go) should net us a good outcome. I'm not suggesting pick 13 but at least a reasonable second rounder.

And, to think, some people thought pick 12 for Mitch Clark was 'overs'.

Is that what we gave for him? I can't even remember. seems irrelevent now.

You're spot on Ron.

Pick 12 for Lucas Cook was Exhibit Overs.

Martin to Brisbane for pick 33.

Gysberts to Essendon for Brent Prismall and a fourth round pick.

beat me to it TP, i wouldn't mind prismall but the fact is he has never played for then 15 games due to aalot of injuries. if he could become injury free he would be a bargain as he wins alot of the ball.

Good lord really? Just have a sinking feeling with a Gys shooting off somewhere else. Will it bite in future, especially with a Prismall who struggles to get on park.

Gysberts for Prismall? FMD

Prismall would be a good get if he could play football.

Also a possibility that Gys could go to Hawthorn for pick 28, though it sounds like the Hawks aren't super keen.

way prefer Gys over Prismall. Prismall never met the hype over him when he crossed from Geelong. Really not keen.

Prismall played a couple of good games for the cats (stats wise) and then went to the bommers and has done nothing!

If this happens Gysberts may well become Jobe Watson #2 and we'll be cursing this trade for years and years to come.

I admit I haven't seen much of Prismall but it seems like he had a pretty good year in 2010 although he only played 15 games. Averaged 22.3 disposals, 5.6 marks, and 5.1 tackles per game. However having never played more than 15 games in a year (none this year), it would just be stupid if this trade went down.

I have faith in the FD but DemonWA is right. Gysberts for Prismall is just plain dumb.

Lets hope it is just a rumour

I don't know why people always worry about these player movements coming back to bite us. We will only get to play them a maximum of two games per season, and in most cases, the ex-Melbourne player is hardly likely to be the one that turns the game around (exceptions possibly being Farmer and Thompson). If he does better at another club, then good luck to him.

I don't mind Prismall and if this means we also get Pedersen and Ray into the deal, then I'm all for it as that's a lot of experience coming on board, regardless of whether they are A grade, B grade or C grade players... they come from football departments that teach finals footy.

Rodan and Prismall? I'd just about forget next year and watch Storm.

Any deal with Essendon should be viewed with suspicion, they only let hacks go at top price and this fits that bill.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
