Was impressed to see Mike Sheahan sitting in the MCC members on Friday night in a Melbourne Football Club tie. No doubt he has the best wishes for the club at heart, just has to be objective in his job when criticising us.

Are you sure it wasn't an MCC tie? The guy is about as Melbourne as Tom Scully

Still found the MCC a nice place to be. Should have his membership revoked.

Pathetic.

I guess that makes you easily impressed. Sheahan is a muckraker and seems to delight in taking aim at us.

was he sitting there open mouthed, moving his head slowly from left to right?

Like the side show at the Melbourne show...

certainly am sure ox_5, it was an MFC tie!

He seemed to spend the entire game engaging in casual conversation with Gary 'Garfield' Ayres.

Geez Garfield had a very good coaching record (55%) for someone that was maligned so much in the media. .

In other news, I sat in the same restaurant as Chris Connolly today. He drinks tea.

I resisted the urge to tell him what I think. I assume he probably knows.

You should have just motor mouthed him..

These opportunities must not be missed!!!

Saw Sheehan at lunch on Friday - had the MFC tie on.

Never let pride get in the way of a nice lunch .

just saw him on the coverage of the game today on Foxtel. Made a comment about how Melbourne failed to lure Ross Lyon when Freo did. Are we sure WYL isn't in fact Iron Mike? :P

and that was a fair comment too, why Melbourne didn't put a call out to R.Lyon to inquire of his situation. . successful clubs have to be brutal, and it finally seems as though Freo have taken this path. . (but this subject matter has already been discussed on another thread, so end of story)

I chat to Ayres from time to time,he goves the impression of being in love with his wife which is nice. He also told me that he was up for the Dees job but they didnt ring :)

Problem being I was with 8 members of my family... all Melbourne supporters.

Can you imagine how this could have panned out?

Best to remain silent at this time I think.

Ran into Cam Schwab at the Adelaide game as I returned to my usual spot with a lot of beer.

Apparently he hasn't ever had a beer at the footy.

Wierd that we didn't ring Conan.

Will probably take the borough to a second flag this year .

Agree. Tell him we don't need his money.

Did he say that Garry Lyon should have called Ross Lyon a liar, when he said he was staying at St.Kilda and that it was prudent of us to pay a Coach $1million a year, given we still had debt at the time.

Im sorry, I'm not supporting Sheahan here, but our every day supporters take pot shots at us every week.

whats the difference.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
