Richmond Tanking?

Featured Replies

Depends which media idiot, ex-player or footy follower you talk to. WE all know tanking is deliberately loosing games.

In any case this doesn't involve Melbourne so in the eys of the media it will be a non-issue, smart list development, prudent and great forward planning.

Should check with Brock.

Educated people?

Brock may request a trade to the Tiges if they are.

Once he's moved on again he can then point the bone at Carlton.

EXACTLY the same as most other non-finals clubs do at this time of the season. Even earlier for some teams, relative to how low they are on the ladder.

If the rules reward lower ladder positions in terms of draft, then teams with no finals chance will inevidively not worry about where they finish. In fact, as Hardwick has pointed out, it's a great chance to try out new players in new positions. Experimentation with nothing much to lose.

Sounds familiar?

I'm surprised (kind of) that no one has since discussed their changes for this week:

In: Astbury, Batchelor and Dea

Out: King (Foot), Griffiths (Concussion) and Ellis

Not exactly wholesale and they're probably still favourites.

hmmn, prudent, often... In fact, I think there was a song about just that!

If they are tanking, they're not doing a very good job of it.

5 goals up on the Dons early in Q3.

an 'honourable' 11th it seems..

Dons are going to finish 12th. Pretty funny if you ask me..

I am listening to Lloydy online on AW.

Filthy he is...Gold.

Edited by why you little

Lloyd is just unbearable to listen to. So good that he's bleeding.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
