Frawley Out Bate In

What are we doing????

All our good players are out,

WATTS has the longest twisted ankle in history.

JAMAR a seven week calf strain.

MARTIN runs out a game then all of a sudden has an injury

And FRAWLEY get an injury last minute.

They are the suss ones not to mention long term injuries to CLARKE etc

We have 17 on the injury list that is almost 40% of our list. Something stinks and i want to know what. Us members need to hear the truth.

The season has long been over.

If there is ANY risk of long term injury aggravation then it is clearly not worth a risk.

IF we can get everyone up and ready for preseason then we may have a decent opportunity of a decent ladder climb next year.

It is NOT tanking; it is sensible player / list management.

Those players who were named as uncontracted till October in The Age this week, deserve a chance to show their wares.

The AFL call it Free Agency and for clubs with no finals pretensions it seems honourable to give loyal and hard working MFC players the chance show another club that they might be worth drafting...

Calm down folks. Might not be the end of the world. Tom McD will go to Reiwoldt and Sellar will take Koschitzke. Rather Chip have a rest than get a more serious injury.

Bater might play forward and tear them apart! ;)

(i'd also like to take this opportunity to remind people that by my calculations this means 8 of our best 18 are not on the G today - let alone best 22. Please take this into consideration when you begin to scream about how shite we are at 4:30 this afternoon)

Agree with Heart beats true. Not the end of the world (yet).

Curious to know if you guys were at the Saints game earlier in the year. Very close to snatching that one; Hayes was the difference. Can we do it again? If not, what will be different this time?

Melbourne changes since round 5

Ins - Jetta, Blease, Tapscott, Strauss, Spencer, Green

Outs - Davey, Morton, Frawley, Bartram, Jamar, Watts

Apart from Blease being in better form than Morton you could argue that all the ins are not quite as good as their equivalent outs

(Clark was injured with concussion so missed the round 5 match)

Good post. It would be interesting to look at this for equivalent games over the last 4-6 weeks.

Does it really matter who is in the team today?

Let the coaches have the last few weeks to watch players under match conditions.

Neeld is giving Bater every chance to stay on the list. He wants him. Bitty Matty has to do it.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
