It's not pathetic at all, if anything Jaded has it the right way around more than anything I reckon. There's absolutely nothing to be gained by hanging crap on the less talented players. It's why largely couldn't care less when guys like Bennell or Spencer or even Dunn have poor games, because I know that these guys have low ceilings and they're probably doing the best they can. It's when the top end talent fails to deliver that is the hardest to swallow; it's their form that affects us the most. Spencer and co are just easy targets for people who don't want to look for the real problems.

Just put it down to a bad year, like a few others.

The curse of the B&F

Junior

Bruce

Davey

Green

Moloney

Junior is the only one who backed it up with a second Bluey. The rest have gone downhill dramatically since winning,

Some like Sylvia who should be winning them can't even get inside the top 5 and he has been playing 8 seasons.

Sylvia is a 'Burst' player (or has been used as a burst player) . These types often don't feature in B&F awards .

It's my belief that the way we've used him in the past (HFF with the occasional run in the midfield) simply hasn't worked and probably never will .

If he had of been plonked in the middle (and left there) we might have got the best out of him . However , it's not too late and let's face it , our midfield is screaming out for a talented player who knows how to win a contested ball .

Sylvia averaged 9.5 contested possessions last year and totaled 180 for the season (2nd only to Moloney 271 / 12.3 ) .

If you can't see the difference between Spencer and Moloney, then I suggest you stick to abusing our captain instead.

Kthnxby.

Gee you make some sweeping statements without any substance or evidence whatsoever. I hope the world is alright through those tinted glasses of yours.

Got no idea about the 'tinted glasses' bit . Makes no sense . I presented some facts and an opinion . Perhaps if you don't agree with someone's opinion you might like to present evidence to the contrary or even your own opinion .

I'm not one to bag out players . That must seem a bit strange to you yeah ? I believe that it's better to try and get the best out of a player . Especially when that player is contracted until the end of 2013 (like Sylvia) .

Tell me what part of my post #30 came into the 'Sweeping statement" area ? And if you don't want to debate the subject matter , don't bother .

2nd only to Moloney, you say?

And he can use the ball, above what Moloney can do.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
