Richmond's Dan Connors and Dustin Martin in trouble

Featured Replies

Dees to win this one. 5 outs for the tigers Martin, Connors, Jackson, King and Grimes.

Tigers are a middle of the road side. We will get them this weekend, just need to keep Reiwoldt quiet and work hard against their quicker midfield.

take our 6 that are out Clark, Green, Davey, Jamar, Jurrah, Jones and that is why Richmond should beat us even if we get Jamar and Jones back we still have 4 forwards out. Unless Watts goes to full forward and kicks 4 or Steph has a day out I don't know where our 14 goals to win the game will come from.

Just think Charlie sheen

Ok............"Wiinnniiinnnggg !"

SEN news reporting they admitted to using "sleeping medication" which caused them to miss training. Yeah right!!!!

Here's comes the Richmond cover-up.

"I was bangin' 7-gram rocks, that's how I roll ... Winning! I have one gear ... Go! ... Winning!"

Me thinks the AFL will be knocking on Dustin martins door for a random drug test?

Davey, Green, Jamar, Jones back this week. Your argument is flawed, we are harf a sniff if we pull our fingers out and actually attempt to break from the packs and change the way we enter the forward 50! GO DEES!

Spare me! Sleeping medication!!I What an absolute crock. With 500+ media covering AFL these days my challenge for any hounds out there is to find out what they really did/took. I expect this to be the first question asked and then what on top of that? WTH would Connors agree to walk from his AFL career based on taking a Stillnox or equivalent!

It's absolute garbage. No-one will buy this sleeping tablets nonsense.

Are Richmond going to get away with this out-and-out [snip]???

do they think we are that dumb!!? like seriously sleeping pills pfft..

intresting martin see's benny cousins as an idol and still see's him in the off season lol

Even funnier than this "sleeping meds" story.....I just read about Martin living with their Pres Gary March who was keeping an eye on him because they've been worried about his behaviour. March is "unavailable for comment" because he is overseas! LMAO at Richmond. If you are going to have a minder for a player shouldn't they be in the same country to prevent this sort of thing happening?

"While Connors, who is on prescribed sleeping medication, was not drinking alcohol, he had, by his own admission, failed to uphold the standards set by the club by missing the training session,"

"As a result, he has decided to walk away from the club and focus on the next phase of his life."

Sure, you get sacked for failing to turn up to practice after taking "prescribed" medication (begs the question what Martin was doing taking someone else's prescribed medication) - even after previous warnings, that sounds a bit suss? And HE decided to walk away from the club? Hmmmmm.

Did Richmond forgot about journalists, they will find out about the real reason really soon?

Sleeping pills my _ _ _ _! No way known, how could a guy get sacked for sleeping pills, that would be a complete outrage!

Oh but he didn't get sacked. They agreed to part "by mutual consent". LOL!

If it were prescription medication, then Richmond would be open to a really serious restraint of trade action (or alternatively workplace bullying).

Not buying it.

I'm wide awake, same as Dusty at tramp at 7am on sundays...

I'm saying I am happy with the trenners call at 2 now instead of dusty who is [snip] most weekends.. while trenners is leading the oldest club in the land.

The difference being that on match day Martin rips it up and looks to be improving - whereas Trenners struggles and looks to be declining.

Martin is the best talent to come through the ranks in a long time.

Yep, the best since Ben Cousins.

HAHA, mutual consent. That's not possible in today's game, I've never EVER hear that term used in relation to a player's decision to leave/retire/be traded..............Unles your name is James McDonald which is pretty sad

With Macdonald & Clark out our structure, which looked good after the GWS game, has collapsed which means we end up playing people in positions they aren,t up to. Hope I'm wrong but can't see us winning this week.

Hardly a tough two week sanction when Richmond's opposition in those 2 weeks just happen to be 16th and 18th.

I've no doubt the draw was one of the first things they looked at before handing out the suspension.

That is fair enough, Macdonald is a big loss because he is so versatile. And Mitch is Mitch. Irreplaceable atm imo as is your opinion

what a crock...sacked for missing a training session my behind.....just tel;l the truth Ferals before it comes back to bite u on the behnd

  • GAMEDAY: Fremantle

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.
