It's made life simpler, but there were a couple of outstanding contributors who have yet to cross over and who would be constructive additions to 'Land.

So yes, I miss it, a bit but I'll live.

Anyone have any idea if it will be back up any time soon, too many great threads and too much valuable data is on that site - it would be a tragedy if it was lost.

Data? You mean the Last Game/Next Game and Stats data?

I do but nothing lasts forever.

For one thing this site is a helluva lot easier to use and I like the way news articles are linked

There was a lot of data inputed in to the site by Graeme Smith including all the details of all players that have played for Melbourne from the 60's onward I believe.

All this is going to be lost if the site remains in limbo.

But that was never available to the punters anyway Robbie. Hopefully Smithy has that data on his desktop also??

'ology withdrawals every now and again.

Although the thread headings are entertaining in their own rights, its just not the same.

I'm still getting use to plethora of daily threads/posts that 'Land has going, its hard keeping up sometimes! Its good nevertheless.

life goes on. Pining for Ology is like missing a once great TV show that went on 2 seasons too long.

One great thing about this site is the ignore function. I'm giving it a hiding.

This is Demonland. If you want 'ology go back to it, or make a new one. Every third thread here is about, and every third poster here doesn't know what it's about. I'm a member here to talk about Melbourne not some other forum. Get over it and become a Lander or go elsewhere.

The funny thing about forums is that the titles tend to indicate what the contents might be and hence you have the option of opening a topic for a peek or skipping it if you don't think it will appeal.

There are enough former 'ologists here to make it reasonable to have a topic that discusses the issue of access problems. Traditionally, 'ology and 'land have supported each other over the years and have helped each other when technical problems have been encountered.

I miss it. I was never able to join but I used to enjoy reading the different points of view that were there. It got a bit tired at the end but there was still usually something there worth reading.

The site is catatonic....things change...............

A demon supporter told me his friend looked at the error codes, & told him, it should be an easy fix in a short time.

It makes me wonder why those who said they were giving some time to /Fix the site & had spome sort of access, don't fix it.

And there seems to be quite a torrent of quiet hush, from most of them?

What about it guys?

What can be done & why isn't it being done?

It is an easy fix and some us with the skills to do it have offered. But without access to the site nothing can be done, and the site owner is reluctant to put that on offer, so the status quo remains.

If it were up to me I'd call time on 'ology and import the database in to a read only forum on 'land, so that the defunct site is immortalised in a readable, searchable manner. Then all Smith's stats could probably be salvaged too.

I reckon that is the best option as well. Great site and the content was good but 'Land is a helluva lot nicer to use

Poor form - there are enough of us here that used both sites to justify topics on the recent demise of Demonology

If you don't want to read them, don't open the threads

Simple really

its bad enough copping it from supporters of other sides over the Scully palaver, without copping friendly fire about it from other MFC supporters about a website that is having difficulties

you'd hope there was room for all

smithy and tgr are indeed missed

or....next time you see a thread with the words "ology' or "demonology", don't bother opening it.

There was a thread. I got on and read all about it. Within 3 pages it consisted of new posters bragging about how much better demonology was and how they wouldn't last here because of the tough moderators. In the end, a few baited 'Demonland' so he closed the thread. It was discussed, but its not relevant to the majority; thus am completely in my right to question why it isn't on the general board.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
