Love Cale, he's the barometer. If I'm yelling "Moiton" like one of the stooges in the last we are in for a good day.

Should be a cracker, melbourne always get up for this game and collingwood would extremely silly to get as cocky as essendon. Im hoping they do and we cruise to a 5 goal win with J Watts kicking 5 off half back and giving Nick Maxwell a jab to the face, even though he isnt playing

Or, in the words of Ralph from the Honeymooners (or Honeymousers if you're a Bugs Bunny Show officianado), "Morton, you, are, a mental case!"

John Worsfold couldn’t come close even with one midfielder who equalled the world possession record of 53 so the Demons have their work cut out for them.

GO DEES!

Channel 7 news just announced that Davey has been picked for the QB match on Monday. Anybody hear anything? It's an odd announcement considering he's not even on the interchange list.

Rohan Bail has withdrawn from the 25-man Melbourne squad for Monday's match v Collingwood and been replaced by Aaron Davey.

That explains why Bail was running extra laps after training finished. He was trying to prove his fitness. Aaron also left training a little earlier than the rest.

Be interesting to see who doesn't line up tomorrow afternoon for Casey, and for Collingwood.

Can we sustain the same intensity levels for a full 4 qrts two weeks in a row? I think our skills may let us down as the match wears on, the Pies are a better finishing team than Bombers. Pies by 30 after an even contest through 3 qrts.

If he plays i reckon he is on his last chance I am so tired of watching him displaying no interest for the contest and his soft dinky kicks

I really hope his time at Casey has fired up his enthusiasm because i used to really enjoy watching him

Final team:

In: Frawley

Out: MacDonald

Emergencies are Bate, Davey and MacDonald.

Good news. Im not confident of Frawley getting up, but fingers crossed.

A few thoughts. Some big names back for Collingwood just before the bye. Appears they are going to take us seriously or they don't want to let the returnees get stale because of the bye. They have been in top form recently with an awesome win over Adelaide and a softie against GC. They know we will go hard at them as proven in these QB games, the preseason comp and our improvement over the past two weeks. I expect they will show us respect unlike the bombers. I really hope we can match them but it will be a dream come true if we get up.

If we beat them I reckon we'll play finals this year but I doubt we will.

We need to do well otherwise the last two weeks have meant nothing.

I would have dropped Green before Joel MacDonald Really added hardness last week and Green cost us at least 2 goals due to his age and inability to compete at this level

Oh no, not again...

I know!!! He was a hack as a player, and clearly nothing has changed since becoming an umpire! He's deplorable, he's already cost us one game this year and has killed us with some [censored] poor decisions. Hope he changes.......

Understand your point but its like for like in this case and a bit of stability in the side wont harm confidence.

We all Hope for a good performence , I want to see Melbourne Win !! There should be no Excuse !!

But hey thats in a Ideal world, in this world anything is possible , one thing is for Sure, the weather on the day will be a major,

Contributor to the result as it was last week

So I for one hope it pours again, its a real leveler and certainly the conditions last week bought Melbourne into the game and gave them a chance which they took!!!!

If it rains DEES by 5 if its a nice sunny day Pies by .......( personally I dont want to go there )

Big stage. All eyes of the football world will be on us.

Sellar on Cloke is a key match up. If he can get in his face, even out mark him a couple of times early (dreaming?), I think it can set the scene for a good day.

But it will be won in midfield and Swan, Daisy, Sidebottom, Beams and Wellingham are A-grade even without Pendlebury. Our workmanlike types like Mitsubishi, Moloney, Trenners, Jones and McKenzie are going to have to play out of their skins for us to have a chance.

Not as confident this week but I think we'll put up a good show.

Pies by 22.

Agree with this RR. I've told everyone I know to bet their house on the Dees to beat the Pies today, but, between us, I'm not putting our house on it.

Think the Pies will pull away in the fourth quarter. Just hope we can stick with them through the first three quarters (which will be hard), and that we've still got a contest in the fourth quarter.

Despite the stated line up, I'm not sure Sellar will actually be on Cloke - but I do think his performance in the backline will be very important today.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
