Bring Back Brock

Nice article in the Hun today on him saying that even though he's as slow as a turtle there is a place for guys like him in modern footy. Come home Brock and win a few contests for us.

no, seriously wtf is wrong with some people? I dont mean to have a go but come on, why would you want him back? look to the future not to the past

Don't kid yourself... the way we are traveling at the moment, anyone can look good playing against us.

I think he has played 5 games in his two years at Carlton....A lot more at VFL level

Nobody has the right to bag McLean or suggest he wouldn't be good enough at MFC.

He would be hands down our number 1 midfielder at the moment.

He tore shreds on our 3rd world midfield. Apologies to N Jones.

We could do worse than a McLean at the moment.

Just silly. Sorry mate.

The guy has had 1 good game and he's a recruiting target for the (already) slowest midfield in the AFL? Come on, is this a joke thread?

And if you really think Brock is better than Jones at the moment you have no credibility whatsoever.

The cynics would say Sunday's opposition as at VFL level.

I like Brock..but have not followed him closely since he left.....How has he gone against the good midfields??????

Just would like to know..

He hasn't faced one this year yet. Stay tuned.

If we thought he'd bring leadership and a good training ethic then he'd be worth considering.

I can not understand how people are saying we haven't given Couch a game because our midfield is already too slow but Brock is actually being taken seriously as an option by some people.... Wowee

Brock is like Cam Bruce at the moment, both will get a game when they have injuries or the game doesn't count, such as when they play against the GC, GWS or us.

Theres a smattering of ex Melbourne "Filler players" in the competition at the moment and if we had them all back we'd be no better off.

Pass. Wish he'd never left, but no value in having him back now. Got to move on.

I want some of what you're smoking Ned!

You're living in the past, man, you're hung up on some clown from the SIXTIES, man!

Some of the posters on this form absolutely baffles me.

One minute we will have a huge thread about Scully, expressing our hatred towards the player who we picked up as a number #1 draft pick but has now left us due to a lucrative offer. On the other hand, we have Brock Mclean who we picked up in the top 5 draft picks - and left us due to the fact that he did not want to play for the MFC anymore and wanting to find success else where. The suggesstion of opening our doors to the club for Mclean after he walked out on us is absolutely disgusting and weak despite whether he would be an asset.

I wouldn't be surpised if half of the guys here who are thinking this would be a good idea are weak minded individuals who would get dumped by a girl thinking she could get better, then half a year later when she comes crawling back you'd most probably think hey... I'm struggling at the moment, why not? It could be a good idea, I could do worse.

This is the Melbourne Football Club. Not a cushion lounge where a player can leave and then decide whether he wants to come back or not. Get a grip you blokes show some bloody spirit.

I think you'll find that Brock left because he mistakenly thought we had a good midfield and he'd struggle to get a game; well he was wrong wasn't he?

This has to be a troll or the most infactual sentance I have ever witnessed.

Agree. Simon Godfrey would tear us up as part of a Blues midfield with Judd and co

He wouldnt be our no 1 midfielder. The fact that he isnt in the Bluesbest midfield baffles me why anyone would want him back or regret him going for what we traded him for.

Correct.

Pitch this to The Comedy Channel. It'll probably get up.

i think you'll find Melbourne didn't want Brock anymore, so when he did suggest a trade we were quite happy to oblige.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
