Bulldogs by 12 goals on the rebound after the poor performance against the Saints. They will think they are a chance against us will expect us to run out of fuel tickets in the 2nd half like we have done for the past 3 weeks.......Going to go for the Stynes memorial and will take a good book to avoid the pain once the ball is bounced.

Dogs will smash us.

The game that's got me trembling is the Hawks at the G. I still wake up in a cold sweat from the memory of that 3rd quarter in round 1 or 2 was it last year. Scarring it was.

RR that will be nothing compared to this year, start thinking 186 or 196 or 206

Anyone who thinks we will get within 10 goals is utterly delusional. Going to be such an embarrassment especially due to the fact it's the big fellas tribute game. Not even the memory of his incredible spirit and determination will be enough to inspire us. I say dogs by 80 odd. Can only see us beating GWS this year and only marginally.

I found a substitute for Bex, it's called ice cream with hot fudge and lots of cream, chased down with a bottle of Jack Daniels and a lie down

I respect that.

When was the last time we played the Dogs at the G?

The last I remember is the game where we came back from being about 40 points down, and White got us in front with a goal from the 50m line.

Edit: 2010. When the umpires wore pink, clashing with us. Lost by 4 points. I was holidaying in the USA at the time - almost thankfully.

Relax, we've got this

Nice, Sloonie. I did have a chuckle at that. I knew that statement would bite me in the ass. I think Bex and a couch should come with a melbourne membership.

when the dogs were up and about, they were one of the better kicking teams in the league. Sure they have dropped off a bit since then, but they still have much of the same cattle that will play on SUnday. They will no doubt find it when they play us, given we like to provide our opposition with at least 5 metres space.

Why is it so hard for us to man up? We continually give the opposition 1 to 2 metres head start and they murder us every time.

Dogs in a canter.

A bottle of Jim Beam and a blindfold mightn't hurt either. Can someone wake me up when we've uncovered or recruited a gun midfielder or two please. The losses might not be quite as painful if we aren't gettin smacked there pretty much every week, especially against mediocre opposition. I think they refer to it as 'hope' or somethin

Hmm i think we will smash the bulldogs

Its what we have done for the last 4 years (fire when everyone thought we had no bullets left)

then lament for the next month which is also what we do

too many players in our list are NOT up to AFL standard

Neeld will want to keep his job and get a broom , a very big one

Bailey failed miserably to acknowledge we even had a broom

Bailey looked at age and not on impact gong forward (Junior)

We should have picked up Dylan Grimes when we had the chance

At least the kid has a red hot go

The most embarrassing will come in Geelong.

I'm not so sure NSC

Kardinia Park (Simonds Stadium or whatever they call it now) is one of the narrowest grounds in the AFL if my memory serves me right. So at least the boys wont have to run as far around the boundaries. Might last 2 and a half quarters or even 3 on this ground!!

Yeah that and the Carlton game are gonna get real ugly real fast. 186 could be in trouble.

Dogs won't smash us. They'll win, but they're about on par with the Tigers so...

Oh, right.

I reckon Neeld was right to be worried at his press conference about supporter morale. GWS showed more in a couple of quarters than we have this year.

The Dogs will thrash us. In fact, GWS and Gold Coast are going to really put us under pressure (GC almost beat us late last year if I recall rightly).

Just ugly.

Cheer up Boys. Sunday night the mood of this forum will be a little better. Melbourne will definitely beat Bulldogs. This is a statement game for Neeld and his team (our team). A flogging is not acceptable.

it sure is ugly Ned! will turn around though. Dees have enough youth to pull us through this one in the second half of the season. In the past when we've been in similar situation the players were reaching the end of careers but this new batch it's the start.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int

    POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood

The Dees played insipid, error riddled & uninspiring footy all night and in a lightning delayed match they eventually succumbed to Collingwood by 46 points at the MCG in the final game of the year. Thank God this season is finally over. Bring on 2025.

    LAST DANCE by The Oracle

Forget the wishful thinking from Magpie fans who think their team can perform yet another miracle and somehow snatch a place in the 2024 finals series when their team takes on the Demons at the MCG on Friday night. It ain’t gunna happen. They can whistle Dixie through their non-existent front teeth but the fact of the matter is that both teams have run their race. The game is a dead rubber — for each of them, this will be the last dance of the season.  And given the history between the two

    RED FACED by Whispering Jack

The wind and the hot unseasonable temperatures together with lights turned on mid game at People First Stadium conspired to leave many Suns players and supporters red faced and gasping for air as the Demons proved a number of points on their way to a nine goal triumph on Saturday afternoon in the Carrara sunshine. Melbourne is the only non-Queensland team to taste victory at this venue in 2024. This surely leaves a number of journalists and media mavens red faced after they rushed to pass
