I agree with a lot of what you say.

But you also need to play with a bit of flair at the appropriate time.

Learn to Crawl before CrossCrawling, before Standing, before Walking, before Running, before Jumping...

Everything has it's components, and needs to be done in an logical ordered way, as we start.

Green is borderline droppable but had to play forward because of no Petterd or Jurrah when Neeld wants him to play wing, so in some ways was out of position but still no excuse. Davey was very poor and was being out run by his opponent. Moloney looked off the ball even against the Hawks and the Lions up at GC. Looks annoyed at the leadership decision. Magner will unfortunately be out injured. Ins will be Petterd, Tapscott, Morton and Sellar. Sellar to take one of Lynch/Kennedy/Cox, same for Frawley, Rivers will play 3rd man chop across. Petterd brings fwd pressure and leads very well, something Mitch Clark needs to learn based on yesterday's performance (why doesn't the club get Neitz down there to teach him how to lead?), Tapscott can play the setup man off half back or could play a wing/HF and put Jones on the HB. And Morton plays the outside man.

Simple changes maybe but yesterday we lacked pace and were outcoached in all areas of the game. Next week will be interesting. Can this be the catalyst?? Who knows......

I would think that yesterday showed us that Voss was able to get too many mismatches in our goalsquare. costing us many goals, maybe 5 or more. Frawley was mismatched, as was Grimes and JMcdonald. Rockliff was too strong and smart body use on a few occasions.

Sellar in for a better & more adaptable tall defence, releasing Frawley. So its either Rivers or JMac Out...

Blease out, > this allows Couch in to the Mids.... Or Blease to the Sub position.

its a sad indication of where we are when a first game player from the VFL who has been overlooked by the AFL for a number of years is our best player and midfielder.

Too many 'potentials' on our list. Just like the years we held onto Brad Miller because he could kick ok in training...

Why cant we just combine Morton's skills with Bartram's ticker and Martin's height - one player with all those combinations would probably perform better (although thats a little harsh on Stef).

I think we should do what some basketball teams in america do (Recently by Portland, traded 6 players and released 1 in the space of 3 days), have a complete roster change and start everything over. I know it isn't as simple since AFL teams have about 4 times the players as NBA teams do, but I think we just need to completely overhaul our roster in terms of key players and start rebuilding with a completely new squad. It might sound stupid but at least could get us some wins and gain some respect and not be the laughing stock of the AFL.

Finally, 'want' the footy. Nothing's more sad than seeing a huge hole in front of a player on a break or switch and seeing him stop, prop and chip backwards, because nobody is moving for him.
