I cannot stand this bloke, cannot handball to a proper target, cannot kick to a target, not tall enough for talls, to slow for smalls.

Rivers was OK today, other players deserve criticism before him today

It doesn't matter how each individual performs, when as a team we are a soft, weak unit with no skills and very little intestinal fortitude.

Good luck to Mark Neeld if he wants us to be a tough team to beat. Right now we are the easiest team to destroy. GWS showed more pride in their performance than we did in ours today.

My one word analysis:

Jones - okay

Watts - meh

For a team that got smashed i thought Tynan played pretty well. When the umpire didn't give him free kick for HTB after that brilliant tackle in the last quarter i was furious. Gotta reward players for that, ESPECIALLY first gamers. Cruel.

Hates getting beaten because he gets beaten a lot. I'd be happy with him playing that spoiling role if he provided some run and good disposal out of the backline but he doesn't.

How ridiculous. Clark never stopped presenting, was constantly outnumbered because, as per Bailey, Neeld was content to have our forwards move up the ground, and continually brought the ball to ground. Terrible call. There were far worse than Clark (probably about 20 other players)

Watts was easily in the best

Only an idiot would accuse Clark of having a bad game. I challenge anyone to try and do well when the ball is being bombed into the forward line in hope, like it was today. Delivery was shocking all day.

It's one thing to have a gameplan that is as predictable as it is boring, it's another thing to be woeful in clearances, the main element that the game plan relies on.

Watts was easily in the best

He probably was, but still doesn't mean he was good. Personally thought he was ok, and showed usual silk but still leaves me wanting more.

If Watts becomes a gun midfielder, it would be a better long term result than if he becomes a good forward.

Teams have won premierships with ordinary forwards, nobody has ever gotten close to finals, let alone a flag, with the sort of garbage midfield we currently boast.

Of anyone running through the middle today, Watts was far and away the silkiest. He can hit a target for once. That's a really refreshing change from a bunch of dumb footballers bombing the ball to the boundary.

And as well as all this, they seemed to lack energy. Where was the run? Are they unfit? Uninspired? Not interested? Why do they as a team seem to be all these things? Where was the gut running to create opportunities when the ball was being carried from defence?

Trengove - the effort was there but he looked a little short of a gallop. It will come.

Grimes - great early but fatigued due to constant pressure.

Jones - couldn't find any space and time. Needs more clearances.

Bartram - not sure what to do with this bloke.

Watts - almost all of our best passages of play featured watts. Needs to do it over 4 qtrs.

Bate - impacted game but it was already gone.

Frawley - a little loose. No attacking aspect which we need badly.

Clark - not great but limited chances with our delivery and slow ball movement.

Mckenzie - out of touch.

Blease - short steps and not a natural forward

Green - horrible vision and skills

Garland - worst game for years. Just awful.

Moloney - ditto.

Rivers - at a hiding to nothing. Had to fix others mistakes. Too small to defend lewy.

Macdonald - should have gone to rockliff way earlier. Coaching staff very slow to react.

Martin - typical Martin game. Some good some bad

Davey - not a congested football type. Needs to think about his future

Howe - played from behind most of the game. Not impressed by unwillingness to present as a hf.

Jamar - yikes.

Bail - a better running version of bartram? Butcher by foot but does other things well. Can you have these types in modern footy?

I must feel sorry for Magner and Tynan

They thought that you showed up and played footy you know run case kick tackle

What they obviously dont know yet that at melbourne you do none of these

You look like you try, you cruise, you shout and point and wave you arms and you do NOTHING

I wonder how long it will take for these two footy players to learn the Melboune way. Cruise at half pace be second always to contests, get no bruises and pick up your pay check and have a good old time playing not football but playing at being a privileged footballer.

The boys club that is the MFC was well and truely on display today.

A day when we should have inspired people to sign up as members
