Addam Maric

Featured Replies

It's obviously very very early in the season but A.Maric has started the season fairly well for the Toiges by all accounts.

Interested to hear people's opinions on how they think he will go.

Was it the correct decision to let him go or was it the right time for both parties to part?

Thoughts?

He will be a star over there. Will absolutely kill it. As do a few of our rejects.

On a serious note, I think we couldve held onto him a bit longer under the new coaching structure. But thats just me.

i honestly think that he would've been a good small forward.

I hope keeping Jetta over Maric pays dividends

Please note that he also had a good pre-season last year and there wasn't much else after that. There was definitely something with this bloke though, he is very good by foot. I was disapointed he left/wanted out but really he hadn't nailed a spot and I don't think he has the makings of a finals type player. No great loss.

I thought Maric was good at times when he played for us, but he's an "icing on the cake" type player.

He'd be handy in a good team that could hide his deficiencies, but I don't think he was right for MFC.

I actually think he will make a decent midfielder. He didn't seem to read the play right when up forward, but when pushed up the ground I thought his awareness and recovery skills were pretty good. He'll go alright for the Tigers.

i remember last years nab cup maric was flying for us and everyone was saying he is in 4 a massive year, so lets just wait for the real stuff to start and see if he goes missing like he did 4 us

he was defintely an icing on top player, or what I would call a finisher.

Stupidly most questioned his work ethic although he turned up in great condition to pre-season and gave his all.

I think he was slightly hard done by becuase he would play ok then get dropped, the opposite of some. also against him though, he didn't get his own ball and was finding it too hard in a bottom 8 side.

I reckon with confidence he could be a great finisher but feel we won't lose out on this one.

Baby sized tank will stop that. By all reports his lack of endurance was a blocker when considering him in the middle.

Don't think this one will sting us at all in the long run. Maric at best will be another Stevie Armstrong - might get lucky and end up at the right place at the right time, but realistically I think he'll be just another player who doesn't quite make it.

I rate Jetta. Once he get's out of his injuries and start to really develop I think he'll be able to be far more valuable.

Ho hum. You hear people yak on about Miller the same way.

They were tough choices, but had to be made. Miller wasn't getting any better, and wasn't helping anyone else get better. Maric was ok, and will have a few games in which he makes an impression... but will be a liability for many more games...

That about sums it up. Good pickup for them, even if only for the kicking skill reason.

It was a good time to 'Fold' the Hand.

I'm glad he got another chance at AFL level. I think he deserved a few more games that he got last year and fell out of favour with the Bailey camp early on in his Demon days. Good luck to him (except when he plays the Dees), I'm sure he will make a decent player for the Tigers.

Good summary Nasher.

From what I have seen Maric and Jetta are line ball AFL at best.

i honestly think that he would've been a good small forward.

Last week's game highlighted a definate need for one.I liked Adam, but he was very inconsistent.Hope young Lawrence can come on, or we will be very much looking for one next draft.

Made mention on SEN that both A.Maric and B.Miller look like coming off the rookie list at Richmond.

Alot of people here seem to rate Lawrence, yet i am to hear of him ever having a good game with more then 2 goals at either the AFL level or in the VFL. He is a small forward so the classic Demonland excuse of 'he needs to develop' isn't sufficient for him either. Did he even get any NAB game time? Is there something I am not seeing with Lawrence that everyone else is?

At the moment i think only blease or davey could fill the gap though there isnt much depth there.

I think Blease in the forward pocket is a waste of his abilities. I would rather see someone like N. Jetta or even Couch in a FP.

Jetta would be my choice if he wasn't injured all the time.

Couch not too sure about as I don't think he is yet to score any goals for the dees yet. Never know though, he could apply some good defensive pressure in the forward line. I am still yet to be convinced by this fella.

I'm not saying Couch would be a sensational FP, I just think he is a viable option for the position. I just think that with the players we have, having Blease on either a HBF or HFF would be most valuable.

Also for the record Blease hasn't scored any goals yet either :)

Can't think of too many of the top mf my head. Especially not recently.

Trav J - No

Maclean - No

Bruce - No

Cheeney - No

Blease got a few goals in the intra-club practice match.

I think we have quite a few players to play in HFF and HBF already and I am not quite sure if Blease has the tank for it yet.

I agree in the future he'll be a gun, though he may need to take the same route that Davey took by starting in the Forward pocket and working his way to one of the flanks or the midfield as he develops.

I remember one game a few years back Bennell got 4 goals playing as a small forward, I would like to see him play up there. I think he would give the defender his on a run for there money.
