Now that Tom has gone, (yawn) compensation picks announced, all players signed, the initial press feast on our admin has passed I am confident that there will be a good spirit in the club and player group (Tom was probably more disruptive than we think - not necessarily intentional). I'm looking forward to a Harry Kewell style of arrival for our new coach - whoever - and rekindle the passion that was building two years ago. We've got the main ingredient, a great group of players. I challenge all demonlanders to get off the critical band wagon, get behind all of our players, whether you like some or not. We can contribute to our club spirit along with the many other contributers.

No team or club is perfect, but believe even the demon weak links are better than the opposition - Regroup!! The cup is in our hands, however you look at it...

Looking back. It was about the time the Scully controversy became a weekly issue that the team began to look less promising this year. Look at the first half of our season. Save a couple of games there were some very promising signs. The Sydney and Essendon games showed the team at their most competitive. The Gold Coast and Adelaide games were dominations which showed the kind of talent the young team had in them. Hell even the loss to StKilda wasn't without merit. But when people started to bring up Scully speculation every week it might just have been the catalyst that led to what we would all agree as a very disappointing season. Maybe I'm just making links where there are none but I believe we'll be seeing a far more focused side next year.

Excellent post. Get on board people, next year we're gonna kick some arse. So much to look forward to.

Great post H. It's an important time for us all to have that attitude. I'll be doing the Christmas shopping over the next week or so ...... 2012 memberships for the whole family (as usual). They never end up with a 'surprise' under the Christmas tree, but I know the memberships are valued above anything else I could give.

AdamFarr how old are you I have not heard that cry in a very long time?

Bought a smile to my dial.

Old dee did you notice on one of last weeks finals the umpires has the temerity to wear all red socks.

Made we want to spew

I was wondering if we could sue the AFL for 'cruel and unusual' treatment and bringing the game into greater disrepute

Very much below the belt, associating maggots with the mighty redlegs.

Yes I did DC.

I wondered at the time that I did not think I had seen umpires in red socks before.

However they have been copying us for a couple of years now.

Just wish they would not do it on the same night we are playing like in 2010.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
