Gotta agree. The insanity of this thread is so soothing for the soul and feels just like home after reading other threads and being bombarded by certain posters.

My Dear Earl

I'm sure you understand there was nothing personal in my denial and subsequent shunning of you.

It's just that that scheme of selling alpaca wool mittens into South East Asia that you conned   persuaded me into did cost me a rather exorbitant sum. A sum that, by coincidence I'm sure, would be approximately the price of your rather gaudy vehicle.

Ah well … let bygones be bygones I say.

Perhaps an invite to sample your sommelier's choice and the licence to indulge in some of the other "offerings" at your Fitzroy pleasure palace might be a step toward restoring good relations.

Cordially

Your forgiving Uncle

Bitter.

Dear Uncle

i am sorry I am not living at my Fitzroy address as I suspect you may already know! My inner city warehouse was invaded back in February this year by the Special Operations Group on an anonymous tip-off about synthetic drugs. The damage done is still being dealt by my insurance people, trade persons and talented designers. I am currently living in witness protection down on the Surf Coast!

Biffen, I bet. Or perhaps his opposition.

Ernie! I must say I find your concern for my personal welfare quite touching ……………… and it must said, rather more pleasant than your usual moral judgements. ( and …. given that you are a deceased drunken womaniser.. I find those a tad hypocritical)

However, if you find my generous and conciliatory overtures to the good Earl unusual then, just between you and me of course, I must admit to a level of self interest. The goings on at the Earl's inner urban fortress have become quite legendary among those of questionable repute and I'm hanging out ( so to speak) for an invite.

As to my personal life. Well there is much I'm not "telling" about. For a start, I would be permanently removed from this august forum and secondly, most likely become a person of interest for the moral police.

There is a thin line Uncle between morality and immorality as you know full well.

A strange thing, I have come to this thread to get away from the crazies everywhere else at the moment. Is my judgement impaired? How could this thread contain more sanity that all the ranting newbies elsewhere? Think I need a banana espresso.

How does one fit a banana into the coffee machine portafilter?

That would be stupid, first you put it in the grinder, then steam the puree and add to a double shot. Funny I thought that was obvious. Must go they a bringing my new jacket.

Wondered about that also. I was going to check with Uncle about banana placement but fortunately, I read the next post

of course so obvious now you mention it.

must say I have had a long lay off from bananas as most folk do. I have never understood how you could eat them every day but perhaps its my lack of imagination. Anyway, they are very tasty at the moment. Not sure if they are local or the ones Earl purloined from the Indonesians. They did seem expensive so perhaps the latter.

Following Uncle Bitters advice about banana placement could be deleterious to your health.

I am working my way through Game of Thrones and am now into season 4 and what I find very strange, is that I haven't seen a single banana.

Clearly if the Director was looking for realism, he would have shown a few bananas.

It wouldn't do the banana a whole lot of good either MD!

Very incisive DV8.

Ernie is just dissembling in an effort to justify his sordid past.

LoL...

You know, a slightly greener than Ripe... banana,   put lightly thru the microwave,  just to take chill off mind... is more comfortable for thee, who must be obeyed... and flavour seems better thus.

... and a good supply of tooth picks.  ?

Maintaining essential vitamins and minerals such as potassium, calcium, manganese, magnesium, iron, folate, niacin, riboflavin, and B6. These all contribute to the proper functioning of the body and keeping you healthy.

... gotta keep the strength up.

Game of Thrones is a story about lawyers, right?

To answer the question part, I still know we lack skill and pace. Yes skill can help lack of pace with hitting targets.

The first half against the Hawks, was some of the worst footy from both sides, I have seen in years. It was garbage.

There is no such thing as a bad win, especially over the Hawks!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
