Oops! So you did, Red. My bad!😬

Clutching at straws, were Hogan and McDonald in the 7? (with Jackson, Bedford, Grundy, Jordon and Neal-Bullen (though you didn't mention Crows)?) They'd be 'disqualified', too...

Yes there are more like ANB at Crows and Corey Warner was the other Docker.

Looking like a totally meaningless end to another meaningless season for us..

We appear to be treading water.

New venue still not announced.

No new players to excite.

Have never got a good free agent.

In just two games i watched involving Dockers, Giants and Swans there were 7 former Demons playing regularly and we have not one from another team since 2021.

I don’t think we have an NGA player in our senior side.

The Coach appears to be just hanging on.

We keep losing to ordinary sides in the same way we have for the last 4 years.

Oh well we still aren’t that far away, so maybe next year.

I was going to respond to your post in a passionate thoughtful way.

But currently, I have lost interest as the club appears not interested in making the hard decisions šŸ¤” to become successful again.

The club is achieving a worst performance each season since 2021. This includes the lost of four final games in a row, this was when the club was able to play finals. I get the feeling, the club will take awhile before it can play finals again. Unfortunately, the same thing is happening with my WAFL team. Life just sucks, but the Coach was replaced and the team is playing better. Baby steps.

I suspect there must be a few internal issues happening in the club and the recruitment of a CEO who has no industry experience and was in no rush to take on the role will not help!

Get excited about the young core.

We MUST move on from the 2021 team pronto, if the club intends to become something remotely competitive in a few years.

Sounds like the 57 year plan we had for our last flag.

The danger with losing is it becomes the norm. Better to have a winning culture and it makes recruiting and retention of top players much easier. Not to mention the impact on the clubs supporters and revenue generation.

I wish I could drink such a wonderful thing! But we lost to East Perth on the weekend after being about 5 goals in the lead at half time at our home ground in Joondalup. Nothing taste any good after this horror!

The Eagles came last in both the AFL and WAFL! This season is not a total disappointment.

Finally, some good news 😁 the Board has made the correct decision. Now don't stuff up the recruitment of the next Senior Coach.

Both my teams have been rubbish for a few seasons now, and both are in the market for a new Senior Coach. At least this is the first step in healing the supporters pain.

Thinking I need a

to celebrate 🄳

OMG someone suggested Nathan Buckle as our next coach, FIGJAM himself. My number one rule in recruitment is NO ONE from Collingwood, EVER. They want to bring back Mark Needle next!

At the very least Simon won the flag that allowed me to hold the cup ( couple of months later) and Cheer for The Dees as premiers.

Thank you lord I have seen the light,

Bananas for breakfast from now on.

On the same weekend, I had West Perth 6 goals lead at half time and Melbourne had a 46 point lead at three-quarter time. Both teams lost their games. So I can feel your pain.

IMO it's a good thing both teams are looking for a new head coach.

So Red you need to embrace the light and support the search for a new coach. Although our issues are not just with the former senior coach.

Tbh I have no idea who we should appoint and just hope we get it right.

Could be an interesting off season coming up.

Your moniker, so apposite to this day of heightened mixed emotions.

Uncle Bitters has likely taken time off to have his spikes polished and new make-up applied.

Well I heard Nathan Buckley and Mark Needle are both available.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. Ā We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's Ā six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.Ā
