At least we can all be happy we won’t be losing again this weekend.

Well there will be more seasons like this one to come Red!

At least my WAFL club saw this type of danger and took the brave decision to part ways with its senior coach. We had a hugh win on the weekend as a result. While it was sad a club champion lost his position, the club needed to make the change. Beating a host club is always satisfying.

If we make a Coaching change, it won’t be until the end of the season.

I can live with that. Never been a big fan of midseason coaching changes.

J Hunt a former Melbourne player, was playing Reserves for the Eagles on Saturday. They lost but he was third best on ground for the Eagles. So I got to sing It's a Grand Old Flag again.

Not sure how singing the Dees’ song comes from a losing Eagles game where a former Dees’player is 3rd best for them, but glad you enjoyed the moment.

You can probably sing it again now, as Casey won last night and a Dees’ player was our best.

Its a Grand Old Flag is also the club song for West Perth (WAFL). Which is a good thing as I only need to remember one song for both my AFL and WAFL teams. I just a simple country boy after all. To be honest, when I stopped supporting the Eagles back in 1998 because they started the host club arrangement in the WAFL. I started supporting Melbourne because it was red and blue, the same colours as West Perth.

So I don't sing the Dees song, I was singing the Falcons (West Perth) song. Which I love to do after a win. You should have heard me singing the song when we beat the Fremantle Dockers Reserve WAFL side (PEEL Thunder) two weeks before under our new coach. My dislike for the Eagles and Dockers is strong as they have damaged the WAFL by making super teams. They have all the current AFL players with a ton of coaches. Last season PEEL won the flag, I wonder why?

Looking like a totally meaningless end to another meaningless season for us..

We appear to be treading water.

New venue still not announced.

No new players to excite.

Have never got a good free agent.

In just two games i watched involving Dockers, Giants and Swans there were 7 former Demons playing regularly and we have not one from another team since 2021.

I don’t think we have an NGA player in our senior side.

The Coach appears to be just hanging on.

We keep losing to ordinary sides in the same way we have for the last 4 years.

Oh well we still aren’t that far away, so maybe next year.

That's sobering, isn't it...

Although, it is offset somewhat by the draft outcomes that followed.

And perhaps a bit harsh on Langdon's, Melksham's, May's and Lever's participations.

Ironic, too, that this discussion is in this thread. His was a loss I don't think we (eventually) felt we suffered for! 😄

Not sure there will be coaching change. Goody said on one of the talk shows or radio, can’t recall, that he is going on weekly walks with the incoming CEO.

CEO probably trying to get the lay of the land and Goody probably schmoozing and getting in the good books to make it hard to move him on.

I did say players we got since 2021, they were all pre 2021.

Don’t know who you mean, as no name is in my mind, but he wasn’t a loss, just good riddance.

Oops! So you did, Red. My bad!😬

Clutching at straws, were Hogan and McDonald in the 7? (with Jackson, Bedford, Grundy, Jordon and Neal-Bullen (though you didn't mention Crows)?) They'd be 'disqualified', too...

That's me clutching at straws, by the way, not you, Mr @Redleg! 😄

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
