Are you familiar with 60's porn stars Mr Leg? I have no idea what 60 year old porn stars look like or even if it is possible at 60!

Yep....

Yet there are similarities..

Both about a totally [insert censored word of choice] contrivance. Both display less class than [censored].

And neither worth watching.

Don't think Goody can put up with scared players and therefore I see Jeffy as an out this week and soon permanently.

PS. Hate to say this, but the bananas don't taste so good when you are at the bottom of the ladder.

A bit harsh bb. Surely a bloke's allowed a hobby?

Fingers crossed for the Queens Birthday honours,  I am expecting some good news at last, belated recognition for my tireless work for the recently beleaguered financial sector. But you didn’t hear it here Okay!

I think our season is not proving we have a crap team, but rather with multiple injuries and poor kicking we struggle.

We have nearly beaten the  Crows and Eagles recently with half a team and when they were at full strength. In both games our goal kicking lost us the game.

Therefore get most of the good players back and fix up the goal kicking and we are right in it again next season.

A couple of more players getting blooded like Baker and Lockhart and with a few more into the club and we are really right in it.

I feel better already.

Banana smoothie here I come.

I imagine our valued colleague @Earl Hood is currently in a dark place

Im sure we all sympathise with him remaining sans gong as it were but I fear he was unable to hide those ..... err ... marginal business activities of his

PS Be assured Earl that I didn’t say too much.

I put the bad behaviour of fans at AFL matches down to a shortage of bananas at AFL venues.

Banana smoothies instead of beer would improve crowd behaviour no end.

I wouldn't mind trying some of that banana bread beer.

True story:

Many people who consider that they may be some level of gluten intolerant will experiement by replacing a number of gluten-heavy foods (obviously breads) with low or non-gluten alternatives.

One of the leading items in this is a bread made from bananas (not to be confused with the cafe snack 'banana-bread').

A feature of this banana product is that it has very high levels of various fibres and roughages which do an excellent job of clearing out the digestive system (much like Uncle Bitters on a good day at the mansion, so I hear).

So, the people who have made the switch from gluten to gluten-free experience a significant improvement in digestion, even if they weren't actually gluten intolerant. A quite understandable round of confirmation bias kicks in and tada, they become really annoying at group dinners.

Never underestimate the power of bananas.

in many parts of the world they grow "cooking" banana variants (not sweet) which are used more as a vegetable than a fruit. In fact in some countries these variants predominate (e.g. South America i believe)

It warms my heart to see this thread back to its roots.

Ahh bananas!

i'm familiar with the cafe snack version (sweet). do you have any more info on this other version (links, etc)?

Well, there are 'superfood' brands that push it, but they annoy me just by calling themselves superfood brands. 'Green banana flour' is the most directly relevant search term. I can't offer much more than wikipedia, which does also have a whole collection of links at the bottom which seem up to date. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banana_flour

Meanwhile, in other banana news, the nanny/police state is coming for our little yellow friends! :o

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
