BBO, I'm sure that will only add a premium to the price of the paste that Earl sells. 'New and improved massage paste as used by a randy butler and a housemaid. Limited edition. May contain traces of pubes and nuts'. Should bring out all the perves in the Fitzroy and Brunswick area.

Please enough of all this wild conjecture. I will state categorically that all the products in  the Hood Institute of Wellness range of health products are 100% HACCP certified, that includes my "essence of guava" that is proven to reverse male pattern baldness and my special guava paste, krill and Horney Goat Weed formula that is proven to improve your skin, memory function and male sexual performance!

And yes to quell the scurrilous rumours that are circulating there was an incident involving one of our guava paste production units. This is part of an ongoing investigation so cannot comment further, only to add that Hudson has decided to take up an opportunity in our Havana office as of last week.

bitters you are intelligent and clearly a man of interesting and varied tastes and behaviours but you do let yourself down by dropping your normally high moral standards that I would normally associate with others. Why do you do this? Some may think you have a personality disorder although I suspect you are tired at the end of a busy day and just enjoy an old fashioned stir by making outrageous comments that are  often in bad taste and unbecoming of a MFC supporter. Of course I suspect that many turn to this page just to read your comments and blatant exhibitionism which encourages your perverse comments. I am one of those readers that is intrigued by your madness!

Wow Ernie!! Praise from the man who gives the term "ghost writer" real meaning. I was so chuffed I think I cried more than when I watched "Shane" the other night on Fox.

Good to see the thread living up to its high standards while I am away. Saw the Lions game on AFL on phone in Vancouver and now in Astoria Oregon and will rely on Demonland for updates of Port game, as we are on a ship bound for San Francisco and will be at sea during the game.

Well that is the footy content you, can get back to more important topics.

In that case, this one's for you -

If we needed any proof that the Olympics are rotten to the core we have it today.

Russia that paragon of Fair play  has nominated Sharapova in their tennis team even though she is still suspend for drug cheating.

they have more front than Myer and a hide thicker than a Rhino.

And the Olympic organisation expects us to admire them.

If she is not immediately reject by the IOC then we all know beyond doubt what they are.

The  most surprising thing is that they still surprise me!

The IOC has just given itself a Brazillian !!

Yes I know what you mean old friend. We somehow keep hoping that sport and sportsmen and women are clean. However, it has got to the stage where I view any exceptional result with suspicion. In any sport. If you go back in history individuals have been taking performance enhancing substances to aid performance. It's only the type of substance, and the highly organised and systemic nature of it that has changed. However, the history of athletes taking stuff goes back over 100 years. However, the magnitude of illegal usage has simply gone to another level. Australian and Australians are not exempt. That's why I have been careful about condemning EFC when clearly drug use has permeated Footy for a long time. It's just the lying and cheating by those that have been involved and the whole avoidance of culpability that has made me angry. A little like Lance. When you consider what all the other members of the peloton have taken over the years, the penalties for lance have been disproportionate in a sense. There were many others that took the same stuff for as long or longer than Lance who have not been punished or punished as severely. However, Lance lied, cheated and bullied all and sundry. Basically, I think all professional sport is a corrupt business in which there are so many people making a living who have reason to maintain their silence. I love my Demons and will to the day I die but I have no illusions about the AFL or the purity of the game. However, there is still a thrill to see them run out onto to the ground, watch in awe at some of the freaky skills and stand proudly with our fantastic tribe of supporters when the song is sung after a win. And that feeling is going to become more common. But God help me, if the club or any players get embroiled in performance enhancing substances I will walk away and never ever take out another membership. The lifelong love affair will be gone forever.

I've been unable to take the Olympics seriously since they introduced leisure pastimes into the mix.

Golf......really...

Tennis ...Beach Volleyball ffs

I even question the validity of Basketball.

Hell let's even it out with V8 supercars...there's a medal for us .

They've managed to turn the  games into a parody of itself.

The winner is....... corruption  and the dodgy folk running it.

Won't bother me thinks.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
