French is derived from Roman times and Latin as you know, similar to other languages such as Spanish and Italian. French is the language of love good man. It is also the language of diplomacy, science, literature and philosophy. Peasants do not speak French. They speak dialect or indeed speak in few words. Similar to the peasants here particularly those that gather in tribes to watch the Tigers and the Magpies or in SA, Port Adelaide. We also have a few here on Demonland, but who will not be named as we know who they are. Also I value my neck given the importance of the mind body connection. Although, I have to say there are a lot of headless people in these illiterate times of Kali Yuga. For those wanting to find out about Kali Yuga consult Google. The French along with the Indians know all about Kali Yuga. However, I am getting distracted from the main point of my post.

I will be reporting your outrageous and frankly obscene comments to the Academie Francaise. I hope you are not planning a trip to France anytime soon.

If I was planning to make love to a beautiful woman, I would want her to whisper sweet nothings in French. Remember Francois Hardy "only you can do it". Yes I know that is English. But lost in translation of course, for the French words are beautiful....que vous pouvez le faire...... and the grunts even better! Knee trembling stuff Moon.

I suggest you go to Alliance Francaise and then we can converse in French just to raise the tone of posts on this site.

eloquently put, ernest

of course we already knew moonie was an illiterate hayseed, who may be quite conversant with peasants but is clueless when it comes to romance languages

Congrats, DC, on the 20 000th reply?

And to Hemingway on the overall 20 000th post!?

Not my intention as a dead alcoholic writer, and I would have preferred it to be one of the original veterans of this esoteric and simply mad thread. I started reading this thread almost in a voyeuristic way and always curious about its sudden change in direction and subject matter. It was like picking up a book of short stories in which imagination and entertainment was paramount. However, unlike some i decided to take part because I wanted to join the orgy. Very rarely have I failed to be entertained. However, I understand that it is not to everyone's taste, particularly for those whose interest is strangely on football matters and the MFC.

Hare Krishna Emerald. I recommend you purchase a full set of the "Srimad Bhagavatam" translated into English by His Divine Grace A.C, Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON or the International Society of Krishna Consciousness. These volumes provide all the answers to life's questions (excluding the date of our next premiership flag), and will keep you reading for the rest of your life indeed eternity. I can guide you along the way if you wish. If you want a flavour of these works without the expense of purchasing all volumes, I recommend a read of the "Mahabharata" which is a revered text with profound spiritual themes and an enthralling narrative culminating in an apocalyptic war. As you know, I do not support organized religion, however, I think that the only answer to the age of Kali Yuga lies in matters of the soul. However, this involves the destruction of this current world as we know it. This includes the destruction of the AFL, the football media and all the wrongs of this wonderful game. Of course, at the end of it all, the MFC and it supporters survive.

I understand now why you died Ernie. You were destitute after spending all your money buying all those vowels.

Thanks for the recommendations Ernest,I have read the Bhagavad Gita before and will get around to the complete Mahabharata after I have read that other epic literary masterpiece called The No T$ no B$ Thread.

I am a proud man, having started the greatest thread ever on Demonland. Over 20000 posts across 800 pages and over 360000 views.

We are on our way to 1000 pages and 500000 views and 30000 posts and not one fight the whole time.

Hopefully other threads will aspire to the high standards we have attained throughout.

Lastly, for those who  think we don't mention enough football, I say "sherrin and faulkner".

Redleg, you still happy with the thread title? When JH signs, can we re-name it?

Sacre blurt! Might as well try to take the red yoke off the MFC jumper! It is true that if we strictly applied the No BS part we might be down to about 20 posts, but that is the fun part! You ain't renaming nothing!

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
