So is Celine Dion. Someone should put her out of our misery.

That is reserved for the native Canadian wildlife we refer to as a moose.

(A quiet announcement that the minor prize, for ticking over the 800th page, goes to the old(ish) devil himself)

Heard Eric Bana state that he was one of the few not to have witnessed a Saints flag and would place it above winning and oscar. It was a lovely gesture of support from him and filled me with admiration but  there are plenty of us that have had our lifes scarred through our demon allegiance. While I am qualifying for a pension this year I have not been able to appreciate the glory of attending a premiership victory.

Our glory years were when I was a child in the country and had to play out our victorious moments on the front lawn listening to the radio. I will always remember Bluey Adams, Barass, Lord, etc from that time, while equally and probably better skilled players are wallowing without that pinnacle of achievment

I have been to more grand finals of other teams than I have Melbourne and frankly am getting sick and tired of being an irrelevancy. I hope that our current group can develop  a more sustainable model. Perhaps they need to be reminded of how many Eric Bana's we have.

I know that does lead itself into some inexusable banana repartee but go for it

Your pension admission also qualifies you for a position, dp, in the geriatricity ladder I'll be putting together once 20,000 has been passed. And quite a high one at the moment, too!

Nah, she sings to many songs in French for my liking Maple. French is the language of peasants.

Never knew they could speak French.

Correct bb it seems that we are now seeing reds under every bed. We have the best list in a decade and still people see a negative in every situation.

Earlier this year , before and during the NAB there was much conjecture , harrowing and MFCSS-ing , obsessing , no/yessing about what may or may never occur.

e thought ( some of us) bring on the Footy season and something of substance to grasp a hold of. Something we can talk about that was real, as it was happening afore us.

It IS the season proper and there's still just as much worrying about the peripheral or non existent as ever.

Who was it  ....  The more things change the more they stay the same

Your posts normally suggest that you are an intelligent, thoughtful, and personable chap. Have you taken leave of your senses?

French is derived from Roman times and Latin as you know, similar to other languages such as Spanish and Italian. French is the language of love good man. It is also the language of diplomacy, science, literature and philosophy. Peasants do not speak French. They speak dialect or indeed speak in few words. Similar to the peasants here particularly those that gather in tribes to watch the Tigers and the Magpies or in SA, Port Adelaide. We also have a few here on Demonland, but who will not be named as we know who they are. Also I value my neck given the importance of the mind body connection. Although, I have to say there are a lot of headless people in these illiterate times of Kali Yuga. For those wanting to find out about Kali Yuga consult Google. The French along with the Indians know all about Kali Yuga. However, I am getting distracted from the main point of my post.

I will be reporting your outrageous and frankly obscene comments to the Academie Francaise. I hope you are not planning a trip to France anytime soon.

If I was planning to make love to a beautiful woman, I would want her to whisper sweet nothings in French. Remember Francois Hardy "only you can do it". Yes I know that is English. But lost in translation of course, for the French words are beautiful....que vous pouvez le faire...... and the grunts even better! Knee trembling stuff Moon.

I suggest you go to Alliance Francaise and then we can converse in French just to raise the tone of posts on this site.

Redleg, you still happy with the thread title? When JH signs, can we re-name it?

As yes, French is a sophisticated language. However, I do not enjoy it in a Celine Dion song.

French is a lousy language according to George Bush, who famously said, " the problem with the French is that they don't have a word for entrepreneur."

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
