Well 24 hours after the injury dc you will be pleased to know that I am progressing well with my recovery program.

Walking this morning without pain but still a tender knee cap.

I am confident I will be fit for the match before the end of the week.

So obviously you elected not to try any remedies recommended by Mr. Fence.

Good to hear, I assume you are off to the old world old dee. If so, I recommend the bullfighting in Espana.

Madrid, Seville or Pamplona are all recommended.

To SEA actually Ernest so I doubt i will see any bullfighting.

At the planning stage I told No.1 wife we cannot go till after the Saints game.

Hmm that looks a good decision at this point. However the Knee is 90% today so all on the up.

Great game, this club gives me so much joy.

Horses for courses seems to be the topic. Mind off footy for the moment. Which well known horses performed better on tracks like Flemington than that of the tight circuit of Moonee Valley? And conversely, which horses suited Moonee Valley to the bigger tracks?

Was Sunline a MV specialist?

I know Makybe Diva preferred Flemington.

The best horses though thrived at both/all tracks, when they had that extraordinary engine, power.

When we look at St.Kilda, when they're on, they're definitely on. Their game against the Hawks proved that - good formline. I knew it was going to be a battle to win. They have a well planned and astute coach, who would have noticed our efforts down back against Essendon causing mismatches.

We need a better organised back six. And I believe we missed Olivers clearance work and thought so last week.

To be honest, the venue is just an excuse for mine.

Biff you should go. The senoritas and their lithe and fluid bodies are something to behold.  However, they can be very demanding and temperamental so moving from place to place is an advantage. No need to learn the language only the language of love.

Sheeeit....!!  Uncle Bitters, Biffo, Daisy Cutter, Maple Dee, Old Dee maybe one or two others and yourself Hemingway as "Forward Scout" would appear to be a great party of eclectic visionary travellers!! When do we leave!????

An end of season trip ? My experience of tour groups has not been a positive one picket, mainly because of different interests and expectations. I suspect Biff and Bitters and even your good self may have some differences that would make group travel a little testing.  Also, I like to rise early in the morning so that in itself may be a problem in stirring the others from their beds or bordellos. Bitters specific peccadilloes would worry me a little. Spanish jails are not places I would recommend. Perhaps Earl may be interested in putting together a tour itinerary using his contacts to get the best deals. There are some wonderful old castles with dungeons that may appeal to some members of the party. Earl may also be useful in acquiring cheap  licquor. I am happy to act as a forward scout and that way l may be able to leave names and addresses of the more sociable senoritas and indeed those who would be sufficiently robust in the clinches for Bitters and Biff. As a forward scout it may be difficult for me to actually meet up with the touring party but that may be an advantage when the Senoritas discover that i have moved on. This would then allow members of the group to fill the void left by my rapid departure. Anyway, it's an interesting proposition as a cultural experience. Let's see what Earl and other members of the tour party think. One has to be careful not to upset other Demonlanders who may also want a guernsey.

Hmmm. Does D'land have a seconds team?  I might deliberately run into some poor form to ensure I'm dropped or 'managed' so as to get on the reserves tour group.

We aren't looked upon as 'seconds' here, just eccentric

Exactly. That's D'lands Firsts team - The Eccentrics.  I'd like to see someone post the lineup here one day.

What I'm looking for is a place in the Seconds - not eccentric, just NQR.

Interesting and if I may add a "Social Comment" I have often been refered to by friends, relatives, peers, enemies as a 'Different' cat!

So be it! the world is full of acolytes who do nothing to create interest. Whilst not talking about Maelstrom ( no it' s not an Uncle Bitter after shave) I like variation to the norm as long as it doesn't rattle my cage harmony!

Maybe I am NQR and or Eccentric! Many on this site also might agree not just me but see the Esoteric in themselves!?

I think this Thread really is the most interesting on Demonland. Wierd, Wonderful and Wacky ! Just the way I like it!

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
